Baron why is it you don't consider humans as just another animal species within nature?

    65.

Nope, no picture. Too many people hate me and are looking for me!!

After I retired in Jan 2000, I threw away all those silly routines! Seriously, retirement changed me ...freed me in ways that you can't even imagine. So the reality is that I don't have a "daily routine" ....except.... I wake up between 5-6am, have coffee while (usually) reading email and reading sciforums. After that is ...pretty UN-routine.

In northwestern Pennsylvania. But I left that cold and snow and ice just as soon as I could!!

I honestly don't know. If pressed, I'd have to say my father, but as I grow older, I realize that I was also influenced by gazillions of people. Which one was "the most"?? I don't know.

My first encounter with pussy!! And not just touching it through bluejeans, but up close and personal. It was a life-changing experience.

I answered this earlier somewhat ...my problem is the span of time that's lapsed. Some of those places are totally different now, so...? I loved Germany when I was there, but it's not the same now ...what's it like now? I don't know, so how can I answer your question.

I also loved northern/mid Italy. But what's it like now?

I have a major soft spot for "hurt, harmed, abused" women, and little kids. I sometimes think of them as "innocent" and "vulnerable". But mostly I donate and help little kids in some ways ...mostly not on a personal level like Big Brother or that kind of thing. Mostly with money and with expertise.

Answered that question also. ...that you ain't nearly as important as you think you are. That we're all just single drops in a vast sea ...completely insignificant.

Support? What the hell does that mean?!
But I don't see why the two have to be mutually exclusive. Some people think of "creationism" as the story of God creating the Earth in six days, etc. I don't ...I think god is probably lots smarter than that. In fact, why couldn't god have created the process of evolution? See?

I just ain't sure. I think the answer is "Yes, but....." I mean, worst case is that we die then our "energy" goes on into other forms and uses. Isn't that "after life"??

Mainly 'cause there's almost nothing that humans do that's anything like what the other animals do.
Humans are unique in so many ways that to call them "animals" is almost an insult to the other animals!!!
Humans are so unique in so many ways that even though I believe in the theory of evolution, humans and human activities are just so fucked up, in so many different ways, that they just don't fit into it properly!
No other animal has done so much harm to so many animals and so much destruction to so many things over such a long span of time. Man is uniquely destructive ...of both other animals, his own kind as well as his own home planet!

I could go on, Lucy, but try to use your imagination to add to it yourself.

Yes, I eat meat. I'm not one of those purists or fundamentalists or whatever you call them.

Do you ever regret not having rugrats of your own?

You said you quit smoking. How did you do that? Cold Turkey or with some help from all those products they sell?

How hard was it for you? Did you relapse after you had a quit for a while?

My best friend has tried numerous times to quit, used the patch and everything she can't kick it. Sometimes she makes it a couple weeks then
    breaks down.

Baron, did you design the twin towers?

No, I don't think so in a real sense. When my niece grew up there was a little twinge of wanting it all back again, but that's not the same thing. Kids grow up, and that's a damned shame!! Kids should remain at about 4-8 years old. ...LOL!

Quiting smoking was actually not much more than just not buying any more cigarettes. Yes, cold turkey, no help-aids at all. But I'll be honest, I missed smoking ...missed having that "thing" to do with my hands and fingers. I want a damned cigarette right now!!!! But I don't HAVE TO have one ...big difference, I think.

I wish I could say, like so many others have said, that "Wow! I'm a whole new person! I can do this and that, I can run marathons,....." But it's just not like that. I think the only thing that's actually realistic is my sinus problems are not so pronounced now ...but that could be that we're out my allergy season, too!!??

If your friend makes it for two weeks then starts back up again, then she's not addicted to the nicotine, she's "addicted" to the habit of smoking ...just like me.

    I want a cigarette, dammit!!!

    I have to totally agree.

I have YET to find a single thread, in my entire history on this forum, even remotely as intriguing as this thread. May the next member provide as much entertainment!

Is this a new tradition? Does the interviewee get to pick the next subject? Huh. Interesting.

Baron, pick Tiassa, James or Madanthony.

What... is there some cabal that doesn't announce the "person" until a specific date?

Its Baron's business to announce the new person he has chosen, its not up to me to do it.

Obama is a worldclass orator ...so was Hitler!

Obama has little or no experience in politics or in running a business ...and that inexperience is showing clearly.

Reporters and the public are beginning to see that all Obama can actually do is talk up a big game ...and mostly without actually knowing anything about it. Take the healthcare issue ...he doesn't actually know how we're going to pay for it, his answers are always, "We're just gonna' have to find a way to......"

I worry that we're moving into a socialist/give-away society, and that's going to be damne difficult to change once he's gone.
