really?!Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Cool! Can I be the first to hear it when you come up with it? Few more Qs. Who technically owns sciforums. Do you have any long term goals for sciforums, anything you would like to see accomplished here? Do you plan to be here long term, or do you think a day will come that you will move on? Is there anything you would like to see more of on sciforums? Anything you would like to see less of?
Run away! Run away! Perhaps with a look back to shout out "Don't do it! Throw it away!" Enough about sciforums. Let's talk about me. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! sciforums is owned by a shady cartel who prefer to remain mostly anonymous. (I'm not an owner.) It's an internet forum. I hope that it's a good one and a popular one. I hope that it's considered a place where science and other ideas can be discussed rationally and intelligently. Well, I registered in 2001. The time may come where I will need to step down as an administrator, or even leave all together. sciforums itself may change or cease to exist. Anything could happen. Potentially more members, which means more discussions, etc. I think we have struck a reasonable balance in most things here. Moderation policies are always a work in progress to some extent. It's important to bear in mind that what I personally want or do not want may differ in some respects from what the members in general want or do not want, and from what other moderators/administrators/owners want. This is an online community. One person's say, even an administrator, is still only one person's say.
James, As an accomplished Physicist and thinker, what is your thought about those who would follow or go down that role.... (nearly random but trying to achieve something all the same)
Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Sheesh.. I tell you what suburb I live in and you blab it to the forum at large.:bawl: ------------------------------------------- Have you ever been falling down drunk? Do you prefer eating out or at home? Do you own a BBQ? Would you dive off the highest diving tower with your eyes open or closed? What kind of art do you prefer? Are you ear(s) pieced? Have you ever been tempted to run anyone over with your shopping trolley because they took up the whole aisle and walked really slowly? Are you a green thumb? Do you grow your own herbs or buy or use dried in your cooking? Can you make stuffed mushrooms?
I'm not sure what you're asking. Also, you're assuming I'm "accomplished", which is nice - thanks. Are you asking what advice I'd give to aspiring physicists, or what? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Yes. A few times. After a while, I decided that I'd had that experience and that I probably wouldn't repeat it again. I particularly don't like the throwing up and the hangovers. I like both. I wouldn't choose to eat out every night, even if I could afford it. But a good dinner out is fun. Actually, right now, no. Which puts me in probably about 1% of Australian households, I guess. I've jumped off the highest diving tower, eyes open. But my diving is not that great, and I don't think I'd dive from that height - not without some prior instruction in diving, anyway. That's a hard one. I like to think I have reasonably eclectic tastes in art, like music. I appreciate many different kinds of art. No. Yes. Sometimes you have to hate people at random, just for the fun of it. No. A bit of both. Probably. I never have, though. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
James, do you have a favorite place in Australia? where is it? What is your favorite literary genre? Is Zaphod your favorite character from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, if not who is? What would you do with 10 millions dollars?
Well yes. Doesn't everyone? Especially against the one's who push their trolley's sideways and take up the whole aisle or who dodder in front of me and then keep stopping suddenly and reading all the labels.. while again taking up the whole aisle. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I have found a good solution to it though. Park my trolley next to or right behind them and turn it around to that my 1.5 year old can reach out and either scratch at their backs or tries to reach into their trolley. Works a treat. And then he just gives them this big beaming smile and they can never bring themselves to say anything. Ewwww.. That's just wrong. So, so wrong. We no longer own one either.

I can totally empathize with that - A user once threatened the life of my infant daughter on another forum. Not something I take lightly, or forgive easily.
Anyone who has achieved a degree in physics, in my mind, is accomplished. There just may be varying degrees on their experience. My question was not any specific point, it was more personal, and wondering about your thoughts. Any aspiring person to achieve some level of thought, most particularly an adventure of it, what is the role the person would play, by your experience?... I know it is kind of broad...
