The forest product companies are going to have to widen their palette of forest related products or invest heavily into the growing markets of China, Africa and East-Europe. The interconnected world makes distance no longer an obstacle to feel great compassion towards other people and thus warmongerers are going to have to come up with new hobbies. Companies from the private sector are going to gather astronomical amounts of cash with the help IPO's to conquer space...and make it profitable. Fusion power becomes a commodity and scientists will begin to wonder if singularity could be simulated to satisfy the ever increasing need for power.
