With athiest I'm not exactly sure what they are trying to prove other than there is no god. How can they do this? By using something God created. It's called science. Man is always trying to event ways of disproving that God did something so they can take the credit. It relates back to that thing called pride I think. I'll give an example of this. One example is in the Bible God told people not to eat the fat of animals. Don't question that. Why should we not eat the fat of animals. Modern science has proved it to be unhealthy for us. It can become the cause of a disease called obisity. Why does science want to take credit for something God already knew. There are so many examples of this type of situation in the Bible that I can't even begin list them all. But, another example is God had sent an angel to warn this women that she was with child. And because she was with chid this angel warned her not to drink wine. Why? Medical science shows today that driking alcoholic beverages while you are pregnant can have serious birth effects on a child. But it's not a new discovery exaclty. So why does science take credit for such info.? I could go on and on with more examples of situations like this. The question is this, why do we as men want to disprove the knowledge of God and make it our own? Thus giving God no credit.

Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian:

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

There is no point to argue that this is an assumption. The evidence is clear to me. I know that I personally could't go through life wasting my time on finding answers to life when they are already there. Nothing is hidden from us.

    It isn't evidence it's belief.
    Two quite different things.

Here is a qestion I have. Don't you think that when the Bible was first being recorded that people like Adam and Eve would have know if they where the first people on earth? Wouldn't you think they would look back at this and argue with God about this because the saw other people in the garden besides themselve? Surely if there where other people and they saw them it would have recorded , too. People are always at a haste and over look these kind of things. Probably because they get tired of the old and are always looking for something new. This is a common trap.

Belief is all a part of it. It's called faith and faith is the subtance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make with that incoherent rambling, or even if there is a point.
But do you think the bible was written when "Adam and Eve" were around?
What makes you think that Adam and Eve existed?
The most common trap is failing to think at all.
Post #128 is a good example of that.

Clearly, Will T isn't interested in responding to posts but is instead preaching his brand of fundamentalism.

Once more for the hard of understanding: faith is not evidence.

Like the Land of Nod, for example? A common trap?

I must coment on this. I'm not here to self condemn no one. You can only do so to yourself. But my personal argument with things like the Muslum/Christian type situation is one would have to look deep into the facts. The fact is that the angel Gabriel brought the news about the birth of Jesus and he made it clear that he was the Son of God. Then supposedly five hundred years later Gabriel brought the message to Mahamid wich is now recorded in the Koran. In the Koran Jesus is not the Son of God. In fact in the Koran thier god has no sons or daughters. It doesn't add up that an angel of God would bring a message to people saying one thing and then go to another group of people and give them a totally different off the wall message.

Faith is evidence. For such if I believe I have seen enough evidence to prove to me that Jesus existed and all the other people in the Bible that is good enough for me. I just don't go out into the world and search alone for answers. I look to God because He is all knowing. If one goes into the world to search for answersalone you then get answers from uneducated sources. And there is no one educated as God.

Then maybe it's a clue that those "facts" aren't actually facts but a made-up story?

As for the Land of Nod it did not exist when Adam and Eve where created. The Bible makes it's clear that Adam and Eve where the first. Nod came later. A total different event from the event of the creation.

You are lying. Scriptures does not teach that.

My insite into the facts goes back to the ideal of having faith. I know that Jesus Christ existed and He was the Son of God. And there is no other God but Him. I see his works in my life every day. He is a loving God and I feel his affection. That is the precense He shares with me. There is no arguement with me about if God exists because of His loving precense. It's a wonderful feeling.

Some people don't know that the Bible moves so quickly from one subject to another that time has past so much from one event to another. This time allowing God to do so much work on earth that there is no telling how much He has done in it. Things are still like that with God today. The earth is His and He continues to this day to do his work in it.
