    EB 5 Visas

In 2010, there was a lot of talk about how it would be beneficial to promote wealthy internationals to buy up our foreclosed homes. I remember reading about the buy a house and get a visa program. I believe it was also set as a $500,000 investment.

This EB 5 visa program has been available since the early 1990’s and is scheduled to end on September 30, 2012. This is the first time I’ve heard of it. Maybe that’s because of the limitations on general solicitation and advertising. It’s risky. Some immigrants were deported when they failed to create enough jobs, and others have gained there permanent residence, but having lost their initial investment. It sounds like a cheap way to buy your way into the U.S. but I think that Canada has a migrant investment program for only $400,000.

I don’t know but it sounds like a win-win to me. Does anyone see anything wrong with it?
