    1) this is great stuff. bringing computing to a point where it is ubiquitous is a great thing, IMO.

    2) without tech specs on the dimensions (8"x9"x2", ~3.5lbs?), type of hardware, the OS used, etc, the $35 price point suggests to me that this isn't a device most people would like to use. It will be slow, and lack many basic features. So even given #1, I don't think this is competing with products from Apple, MS, etc.

It will be very useful for those who cannot afford to pay 500.00 for an IPad.

$35 computer that does all that? That's what computers should be.

I bet it is more useful than an IPad anyway!

I can't really believe the price. There was the $100 laptop earlier for Africans, but that was really a bit more and I guess they were selling it with a loss. This could be the same, bringing the internet to the masses of poor people....

P.S.: Funny thing is that the spellchecker doesn't recognize "internet"

Great! It's too cheap. I couldn't believe that they can produce such a cheap laptop.
