That is not a given. Revolutions are part and parcel of the fabric of society. The arbiter is the tipping of the scale to the point of no return. That mechanism is far from predictable.

What troubles me is, I can't think of any successful revolutions in the past where the leaders of the revolution didn't also become the leaders after the revolution. Maybe I wouldn't like the government in Greece either, if I spent some time living there, but I doubt I'd be much happier being bossed around by some violent kid with a gas mask and Molotovs, whose claim to authority rests on his underground popularity as editor of a local college newspaper.

Man: I *told* you! We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune! We're taking turns to act as a sort of executive-officer-for-the-week--

    Arthur: (uninterested) Yes...

Man: But all the decisions *of* that officer 'ave to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting--

    Arthur: (perturbed) Yes I see!

Man: By a simple majority, in the case of purely internal affairs--

    Arthur: (mad) Be quiet!

Man: But by a two-thirds majority, in the case of more major--

Arthur: (very angry) BE QUIET! I *order* you to be quiet!

Woman: "Order", eh, 'oo does 'e think 'e is?

I am not necessarily in support of revolution or anarchy, I am pointing out that the mechanism thereof is largely unpredictable.

You'll get no disagreement from me on that one. But one thing that is pretty highly predictable: whoever the loudmouth knowitall in charge of a revolution might be, expect them to demand a big cut of the "profits" from whatever society emerges in the aftermath.
