    They haven't invented an actual device, just put forth an idea. The Casimir force is well known, both theoretically and experimentally, but it's extremely weak. There are lots of physical principles which lead to forces but the reason chemical rockets are still used, rather than say an ion drive, is that to get off the ground and into space requires a lot of force in a small amount of time. Other methods, like ion drives, exert a small force for a long time. So saying "This could replace chemical rockets" is not really very accurate.

    I would suggest that developing thrust would be more appropriate for moving space craft. :shrug:

    Not much of an article, no details....meh.
