Except that I was standing 300 feet from the WTC when both jets hit. Yup, actually watched them fly into the buildings. And I'm not being paid by the CIA to lie to you.

I also saw the horrible things the firemen did that day, and have been disgusted ever since by the hero treatment that they have been given. That flag that they flew over the rubble was stolen off of my neighbor's yacht. The boat three slips down from me was broken into by firemen, they stole tons of electronics off the boat, shattered the rear glass door, and also stole his flag.

I stood there while they were counting wads of money that took off of bodies, and saw one of them with a child's backpack full of meat from a local deli. They had camcorders, recording gore and bragging about who saw the grossest thing. And from what I could tell, they were not saving any lives. There were no lives to save. You were either dead or just covered with ash. That's why they were turning away volunteers, and stopping blood drives.

A few years ago some friends still had suits ongoing against the FDNY, but the false patriotism was keeping them from making progress. My Greek friend was suing to get his flag back so he could donate it to the museum of his choice.

I was driving a boat back and forth between New Jersey and my marina at North Cove, moving people off and taking volunteers in and helping the people who had jumped over the wall when the buildings came down when the Coast Guard came and ordered all of us (a few other boats were also helping) away from the area. Nobody resumed our efforts in an official capacity, it was a shame.

People want to make something of 9/11 that it wasn't. Both sides are guilty of this. The shit happened, it was ugly, but the response by the political right has been absurd. But not nearly as insane as the theories from the left. It was just an insane act that exposed our own insanity in relief.
