It will probably do something akin to pissing into the wind, but we won't know for certain until the UN declares a Palestinian state. With or without a Palestinian state, however, the blockade laws will probably remain the same until Hamas reigns in all violence.

Why not expect concessions from both? The only concession I think should be expected from aid workers is that militants and militant supporters can't disguise themselves as aid workers. That means there should be some form of inspection so countries like Iran don't abuse the system.

I agree, Palestinians should not need to defend themselves through smuggled weapons. They should receive equal concessions as Israel when it comes to weapons and military support for self defense. They should be able to openly purchase/receive as aid any weapons on the open market to defend themselves from the occupation. They don't deserve any less concessions than were made to the French resistance or the Warsaw Ghetto inhabitants or any other peoples defending themselves from violent militant foreign occupation.%

Israel wouldn't accept a UN inspection and ISrael even if it did inspect the boats still probably wouldn't allow the ship in. its not about protecting themselves its about punishing the palestinians. the Israeli9s aren't a reaosnable people nor one that collectively thinks rationally.

If they accept the UN's terms for recognition of their state, and all further claims are addressed through the framework of international law, they will be able to buy all the weapons they and their supporters can afford, just like any other country.

And if they don't accept what outsiders determine should be their state then they cannot? But of course, you're Canadian, I'm Indian, we have different perspectives on what constitutes sovereignty. Apparently like the Israelis violent occupation and external military and political force is what constitutes sovereignty for you.

why would the UN declare the state? isn't that the perogative of you the palestinian whose state it would be?
so in your mind the person who defends themselves when being mericouslessly beat needs to stop defending them selves before their attack stops attacking. how about Israel rebounces violence than we can talk about its victims doing so.

well for one because one side already has made a ton of concessions to no avail time for Israel to get on board

Um Canadians view Soveriegnty asas having control of one's territory. like most decent people. don't paint all Canadians with the same brush because of the opinions of the zionist ones just like you shouldn't though you do paint all Americans the same because of the zionist ones.

Do they really? Then why is that so many Zionists and Zionist supporters come from places where native populations have either been wiped out, undermined or dispossessed?

What is it about the ideology of violence and theft that is so attractive to some people? Why are they incapable of recognising that the Palestinians have the right to self defense? What would these people do if they were summarily dispossessed due to their race or colour or religion and thrown into a concentration camp and treated like animals for decades? Imagine the reverse situation where Jews in Palestine are put into an open air enclave put in a diet and bombed on a daily basis. Would Capt Bork be demanding concessions from them so as to undermine their ability to [however feebly] defend themselves?

I am sick of effing racists masquerading as humanists on this issue. Its like watching a man raping a kid and arguing that if only the kid stopped resisting the rape wouldn't be as painful. Thats not the effing point though is it?

More litres of blood have been shed in India's last 60 years than have ever existed in all of Canadian history. Thanks for bringing up the comparison.

When you can establish how my existence here prevents an aboriginal from doing what they would otherwise be doing if I didn't exist (besides not having to breathe the same air as white people), feel free to put me on trial.

Why do so many Islamists come from places where the same things happened? There used to be lots of Zionists in Arab countries too, but they were all cleansed decades ago.

Then make your own message board where you can have things exactly as you want them, and you can ban anyone who disagrees with you.

I imagine that is exactly what Jews had to say about the Palestinian Mufti Haj Amin al Husseini.

Don't forget Gandhi. Nearly everyone suffering under British domination at the time was an admirer of Nazi philosophies. Note however that with the whole wide western world at their disposal the ONLY place available to dump European Jews was in the Middle East.

because that where most of the jews live hence the people with the most to gain by pushing for zionist beliefs.

and central and south american countries are some of the strongest supporters of the palestinians they were founded on dispossession too. hell all the great civilizations of the americas( note all were destroyed: Aztec, Inca, Maya) are in countries that support the palestinians

Is that an excuse or a diversion? They weren't the one's who gave him an honorary nazi membership.

You mean it was the British who turned gave Gandhi his racist views of black south africans?

Yes of course. He paraded as a pseudo white man in his early years. Before he realised that its not really that civilised to be a westerner.

Yup, I know. Also many dispossessed Palestinians are settled in those places as well.

The point is, you can understand why those dispossessed peoples support Palestinians. Wtf do people like Capt Bork who claim to be secular and atheist support a state based on ethnocracy, racism and native dispossession? Not to mention loonies at the helm who say things like:

Who believes in religious or racial entitlement to land in the west? Or do they?

a refutation of your bigoted implication
your right the NAzis were. and guess what zionist groups approached hitler and nazis too. your argument is fraudalent. its based purely on emotion and not the facts and their context. rather than try and portray the palestinians as these evil goose stepping jew haters look at the facts. they lived in peace with the jewish population before zionism and the germans were the enemy of the people occupying them, the british. it makes sense they would buddy up to their occupiers enemies.

the Irish and the Scots did the exact same thing in medievil times over the course of hundreds of years to stay free from england.

Bringing up the mufti makes me a bigot?:bugeye: What a strange conclusion. So let's get this straight. The mufti is either excused for his bigotry because Palestinians are not responsible for their actions only Jews are. If you have one racist mufti then its the fault of the British, if you have an Israeli who hates Palestinians its because they are bad. Right? The Israeli's are baddies and Palestinians are hapless fools who are forced into hating. Is this right?

So how many native Jews did the mufti kill in his demonic vision to establish a Jewish state, I mean un-Jewish state because God told him to do so? The problem with bringing up the mufti in any Israel issue is that the reaction of the mufti would be replicated by any people confronted by a horde of foreign immigrants who came to claim "their land" which God gave them. Just transpose the European Jews with a horde of Taliban like insurgents pouring into the US because God gave them the land. What would be the response of Americans? Nobody but nobody welcomes hordes of delusional people armed to the teeth and aiming to replace the people who live on "their land"

The mufti only asked for help. Americans would wipe out each and every one of the horde and give themselves medals for defending themselves from the crackpots.

Oh no he didn't do that Sam he just decided that his brown skin 'indianess' was much better than the blacks he deemed as savages. He just couldn't understand why white south africans didn't see how much better they were than those blacks. Its like how could they possibly treat Indians in the same way, everyone knows they are better.

Supporting the state of israel doesn't mean that people support an apartheid system anymore than americans who want their nation to thrive supports meaningless wars or financial dispossession.

This issue has nothing to do with entitlement it has to do with statehood, self-preservation and security and this is true whether you're speaking of Palestinians or Israeli's. Problem is that the black and white approach to the situation forces everyone to approach it as either for one side or the other and that's unrealistic. Israel EXISTS it doesn't need to justify itself anymore than US citizens or Australians need to justify the life they have on what was native land. Its a fact, its not going to change and all the Palestinian leaders have done is force their own people back towards the wall.
