Isaiah 34:14 Wildcats and hyenas will meet there; and billy-goats call to each other; Lilit [the night monster] will lurk there and find herself a place to rest.

I didn't find the Bible quote but i remember Lilith (the first Eva) was linked to the famous city of Petra. Why?

Petra:According to Arab tradition, Petra is the spot where Moses struck a rock with his staff and water came forth, and where Moses' brother, Aaron is buried.

What hidden meaning is contained in these personages?
Why they seems intrincate and relevant representations of evil or holiness, but almost nothing more can be enquired about them?
Which are the original manuscripts which mentioned them for the first time?

My interest is focused on the psychological standpoint, it don't accept the possible existence of any mythological being.
Some personages: Lilith, Melchizedek, The False Prophet, Michael, The Nephilim, Elijah, Urin & Tumim (a sort of Oracle accepted by Yahve), ...

M*W: Just a few comments on your post:

Interestingly, the Greek word for "lith" (as in 'Lilith') as:

    1. a stone
    2. small stones
    3. building stones, or
    4. a metaphor for 'Christ'

"Lilith" is referred to as 'the night monster.' In addition to Lilith's day job, I think this could be a reference to the moon. The moon was the original evil, because it ruled the night. The ancients believed the lack of light was a sure sign of sin. The words 'sin' and 'moon' were synonymous and Lilith does a little 'moonlighting.'

Peter, the Apostle, was also referred to as the 'Rock' where Jesus would build his church. I tend to think this is a reference to Jupiter or 'Peter, the Jew.'

I am not sure about the City of Petra, but it probably relates to some kind of 'rock.' The story that Moses "struck a rock" in the City of Petra is an ancient parable. The name "Moses" is actually a title meaning "taken from the water." This appears in several myths of the world.

In my opinion, 'wild cats,' 'hyenas,' and 'billy-goats,' represent the Zodiac.

I found it interesting that "Eva" or "Eve," is "Hawwah" in Hebrew, and is also the same word for "Serpent!"

Both the OT and NT are rife with hidden messages, and many of them refer to stars, planets and constellations. I don't have any interest in reading my daily horoscope or following astrology as a belief system. [/U]All religions are man-made but originated from the study of the stars. Sleeping by day, and wandering at night, ancient nomads created myths from their understanding of the night sky. The hidden messages in the Bible were based on these astro-theological concepts.
