I wonder what iraqi target sites the US has lined up when and if the war starts. Like in the first war there will be an extensive air campaign. Apart from radar stations and "ligit" military sites, what are they to bomb? The UN inspectors, who have been combing the area for months have not found anything worth distroying. Is it to be a man-hunt for Saddam? or just a massacre of innocent civilians?

It's easy to imagine the "shock & awe" talk from the pentagon indicates massive air attack on all infrastructure, especially electrical power and communications. I believe that the attempt will be made to be most "surgical" in Baghdad (especially with all the caucasian "human shields" in town). I am very worried that Saddam will deploy GPS jamming that will degrade accuracy. I saw soda-can size GPS jammers at the Paris Air Show that mask guidance for up to 40 miles. I expect the heaviest 'shock and awe" will be historic levels of bombardment where troops are concentrated outside of population centers, to demoralize Iraqi regulars for an easy drive to baghdad (except for the burning oilfields). There are probably few good targets left under the "no fly zones", except for troops and armor. I imagine there will be some very dangerous work by teams inserted to take wellheads, refineries, pipelines, and loading piers before they blow. They will be depending with their lives on Saddam's restriction of autonomous decisions by his officers. I have a friend who may be asked to perform such a task, and it's not pretty to contemplate.

There is of course still the slim hope that Bush will be unable to attack due to the prudence and solidarity of the rest of the world.
