OH MY GOD! I had my own thread and didn't even know.
(note: there's a lot of things I hate, but a faceless name on a screen that I can turn off at will, couldn't evoke such emotion-- hell, I forget WHO I like and dislike on this website from week to week... too many names...)
The "insulted other members" option in the infraction screen is a requisite 5 point infraction. I can't alter it, even though I also agree that 5 points is a bit harsh. It's not like I can say, "Eh... myopic simpleton, only TWO points under the 'insulted other members' option". Though there are other point options of lesser value categorized for different things, I thought that if you took the time to cast a pointless insult that had no bearing on the conversation at hand, you should be big enough to absorb the consequences of those actions. This wasn't a conservative versus liberal thing, despite some people's insistence that insults toward conservatives are fair game. Call a person an insulting name = get infraction. It's as simple as it gets. It IS actually possible, despite some people's warped belief, for a political discussion to be cordial, it's just that people here can't handle that notion, because it their world, only their opinions matter.
But alas, it would appear that the discussion is now over.
