what do you guys think about this new "rock" sweeping the nation--you know the major players: creed, staind, default, . . . characterized mainly by the whiny lamentations of a drunk white guy with an incurable southern droll.

personally, i cant stand it. and im ashamed that this latest "music" craze has only substantiated theories that mainstream music is slowly devolving into white noise: from the bitchin grunge genre in the mid-90s to weak, lovy-dovy DMB-style pop at the turn of the millenium and to the downright pathetic southern drinking songs we have now. :bugeye:

am i alone on this one?

Well, we do have abit of a rock ressurection, and it is only infintitely better than what has been going on. I don't know, however, what you find wrong with it? You comapre to a drunk white guy- but what else?

If it's real music you want, you have to look beyond the pop rock band- Creed being your major example. If you want punk, you on't go running for the Blink182, etc.

Our commercial music culture has polluted everything it ever touched, which is why most good music now is anticommercial. If you want some good rock in the mainstream, don't take the sidestream for granted, and wait until everyone who even vaguely knew this generation is dead. That's it.
