Where is thought? It can never be seen or even apprehended. It is like a magical illusion, for with imagination it colors the world. Searching for thought, unable to see it, a person looks for its origin. And it seems to be that where there is an object thought arises. Thought does not arise without an object. Can thought look at thought? No. Just as the blade of a sword cannot cut itself, or a fingertip touch itself, so thought cannot see thought.

I got this in the mail the other day seems to make sense. it could apply to other things as well. what do yall think about it.

like the meaning of life for example its not tagiable, you cant see it, and every one has there thoughts about it. people look for the meaning of life and when there isnt really one it just is. well that my interpretation of it.

No no no: meaning of life is subjective. Everyone makes up their
own...

But thought CAN see thought. Otherwise we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Just like a mirror cannot look at itself....you could drag this on a while. Unfortunately, as pretty of analogy as it is, it carries very little weight; a fingertip cannot touch itself, but it can touch another fingertip. So although one thought cannot see itself, can it see others?

I realize this is a stupid argument, I just feel like being difficult with you tonight, as I'm a little bitter over my philosophy paper that is, at the moment, 500 words deficient with the deadline getting close by the hour (what a dumb, redundant saying). My head is spinning okay?!?! I don't know anything!

Except that Xev has got the hottest avatar yet.

I know that pumpkins are, in fact, orange.

At least they seem to be :D.

indeed not all pumpkins are orange.

some can actually be white, blue, tan, yellow, even a purplish hue.

some white pumpkins that i find pretty sweet and nifty are: baby boo, caspers and snowballs.

the pinkbanana, lumina and blue hubbard acutally takes on those suggested colors.

..and, then you have Billy Corgan. he's flesh-colored. like that one color in the crayon box. :D

Is a thought made up of matter? Does it have mass? Because matter is defined as anything that takes up space and has mass. And a thought does take up space in your mind. So if you think about it a thought in a way kind of does have mass.

Thought may be a result of electrochemical signals released by brain. Thought, the definition of itself being abstract, is considered not as a matter. And I think you are wrong when you said that "thought does take up space in your mind". Note that your mind is just abstract as the thought is. And actually, thought does not take up space in your mind. It may, as you said, temporarily, but it does not permanently stay there. For example, when I ask and think about questions like 'what is a human being?', I solve this problem through empirical and transcendental approaches or using any other approaches, whatever you like. And after I've solved this problem, my thought does not occupy space in my mind, but rather my memory does.

And as far as I know, I don't think anybody's mind has such limit that memories would take up space in your mind. I mean, if you say "take up space", I would take that meaning as such that I consider my mind to be limited, the capacity of it. However, though we may be frail humans, I perceive that the ability to take memories is almost infinite.
