Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall
prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Rev 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
Rev 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
Rev 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Rev 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations
shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their
dead bodies to be put in graves.
Rev 11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
Rev 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
Rev 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come
up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

I did a little reasearch about this. I have been trying to find out if these 2 witnesses are human of todays age or if they are prophets that have died before. I actually believe that these 2 are humans of todays age.

You cannot fathom the meaning of Revelations, it's just too weird as if John wrote it tanked up on drugs. For example; why does he say Sodom and Egypt when he just meant Jerusalem? Why are the two witnesses described as four objects (2 olive trees and 2 candlesticks)? The guy was mad.

Obviously they're not "humans of todays age" (sic). Since the story of Revelations is centuries old. Nor is there any evidence that any "prophets" ever actually existed. The OP makes an a priori assumption about myth in a manner that appears to be a subtle way to preach. Thread closed. PM me with questions/concerns.

If you don't believe in it there is very little matter in your comments but thanks. Again, just because you do not believe it does not mean it is not true.

They are described like that because that is what one of the prohphets had seen from a vision from God. That these two witnesses stood in front of God's Throne. If you look at other Rev quotes you will see that they will mention Jerusalem in some of them. This one just so happened that it doesn't.

I think you should go read a few interpretations, maybe you'll get an idea.
