    You are = You're

Keep typing it till it sticks.

This will surely help poeple trust what you are (you're) saying. The Mods are horrible about this in the politricks section.

It's different because some people don't seem to know that another spelling actually exists for the word "your".

I don't write "poeple" over and over while trying to show off my brain power.

Nope, no one could ever accuse you of showing off your brain power! Trying yes, but not actually doing it.

Thanks for the example of how "your" should be used. And, no. I won't complain about personal attacks. Nor will I make them. I'm trying to encourage a higher standard of debate by pointing out small things that can help everyone. Kids read this stuff, Ya know. Set an example for them.

Spell check doesn't catch "your" which is why "you're" is all but lost in our country.

Kids turn in term papers with texting style grammer. Is that good?

The sad thing is, I used to think spelling and sentence construction was important too; you know, for clarity of comprehension?

But now I know better: sciforums has cured me. :worship:

That's the "Help" "Assistant" that shoulda bin. I think it worked on the principle that, if you were smart enough to work out how to turn the fucking thing off, you probably didn't need it. Help for morons.

What do you think the role of mods should be in relation to grammar?
