Hello,

I am a research assistant at Harvard University. I am conducting some online experiments into the cognitive mechanisms of reading. When we learn to read, what, exactly, do we learn?

The experiment usually takes 3-4 minutes. You make judgments about pairs of letters. Afterwards, you can learn about the purpose of the experiment. You can find it here:

vacognition.wjh.harvard.edu/letters2

Thank you.

The website says the experiment is no longer in progress.

You have to do Letter Sense II, the follow-up study.

That was my mistake for leaving off the "2" in the url. I've fixed my original post now, but again:

vacognition.wjh.harvard.edu/letters2

notice the "2"!

Sorry about that, and thanks again.

Sorry folks, I moved my post on the evolution of reading to a separate thread. I decided it's better to leave this one strictly as an invitation to the study. Your replies were all short. We can restart the discussion there.

Thanks!
