In case you haven't heard yet, a cable car carrying 20 employees of a french observatory near Grenoble fell early Thursday, killing all occupants. The following URL contains what details that were available this morning: http://www.msnbc.com/msn/285739.asp

It was the cable car serving the Plateau de Bure interferometer at Hautes-Alpes, an array of 5 15-m antennas, located on a high moutain site: http://iraux2.iram.fr/PDBI/pdb-air.gif

I know, I just heard it in the news. It reminds me of the tragedy in Italy but there wasn't an American airplane involved this time...
