Hello I would like to know the name of the
reddish looking star that I see in the south
west at about 9pm local(Montreal,Canada)
approximately 30 degrees above the horizon.It
is the brightest object in that area of the sky.

G.B., if the constellation Scorpius is visible from your area you are probably looking at the star called Antares.
