Take the AQ test and find out whether you have autistic traits. The setters say that it is not diagnostic. Results may be indicative of a condition, but do not show whether you actually have the condition, or do not have the condition. Having said that, it is a serious test. http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aqtest.html
the first two questions irritated me so far Both of these depend on circumstance. I prefer doing things on my own as long as other people aren't required. I prefer to repeat efficient methods, and avoid repeating inefficient methods. Oh well .. my score Agree: 4,5,7,16,19,22,23,26,39,41,42,45,46: 1 point Disagree: 1,10,11,14,15,17,24,27,28,29,36,37,38,44,47,48: 1 point Score: 29
Bells. I wonder if you would come into conflict with someone who scored very high on this test. Possibly, you wouldn't understand each other.
Hmmm? Is there a reason why I would? The questions seemed very one sided, cut and dry, where some could go either way. I don't see how or why.
There there.. In the first major trial using the test, the average score in the control group was 16.4. Eighty percent of those diagnosed with autism or a related disorder scored 32 or higher. The test is not a means for making a diagnosis, however, and many who score above 32 and even meet the diagnostic criteria for mild autism or Asperger's report no difficulty functioning in their everyday lives. As you correctly say, it is all self-guided tests anyway. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! *Snort*
Making fun of someone you think might have a mental disorder, Bells? That's so unlike you. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Agreed. There are proper infant testing schemes for autism that aren't subject to personal bias or subconscious goal-seeking. There's so many possible biases that I just don't know what I'd trust about them. More a personality test than diagnostic. No offense to Kremmen.
No Geoff. You are making this about you again. And it is creepy. You have made this whole thread creepy.. Pattern...?
I reported my score. How is that making it about me? I don't think these self-reporting tests are particularly accurate; there's always this subconscious effect on them and I think that operant testing or infant evaluation is more accurate, no offense to the Autism Research Centre. I'll let you have the last word. Then you'll feel better.
Being concerned about the circumstance is a little clue Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! How much effort do you put in to decide on how to answer a question? should probably have been added as a question.
