lol! I just got back from that bar, I was there since like 10am till 4pm. I drank like 6 beers, the bartender said the 6th was my last, then later he said I'd been there awhile so it was ok to have another lol I told'm the 6th was my last.... of course I wanted to make it home, but damned if I wasn't wobbly on the way to my car. I park far away from tha bar so I can walk off my drunkedness. Also I found a bar nearby work!!! I went there Friday for a beer while that chick whos' married I wish was mine probably sat in the lunch room talkin to our other coworker, haha... so he emailed me and said "how was your lunch sleepin in your car?" I said the truth mofos' I said "I went to a bar, had a few drinks, then came back here" but hilariously I added "just kidding". lol I think I'll go back to that bar from now on during lunch, it's better than hanging out with some chick I really wish I could've dated, hell guys you know the chances of meeting a girl I get along with so well whos' married? Fuck that should've been 0. But yea, I think she thinks I'm gay because she was mentionging she thinks our coworker is gay, so I thought "hell she thinks everyone is gay including me." But seriously I like her, it just sucks so bad liking a girl who's married and being such al oser that even if she wasn't she'd never look twice at you. Fuck, the only good thing is I tried 4 different kinds of beer haha I'm thinking this fella's

1 month, constant drinking and shit, smoking is now my habit of choise haha I got 1 pack here 1 pack at work. I'm going to do shit all opposite for 1 month, see what happens. Whether I'm fired or not, lose my interest in her or waht, who cares... right now she's in las vegas partying with relaxtives etc.... my only consoluation is that I had beer today and talked to the bartender who told me I looked 23 so maybe that's why non one takes me seriously. Goodbye yall till next time

: 5 straight days of bar hopping :

he is going to drive himself into a coffin.

Let us pray for darksidZz, the virgin who could have had it all, if he believed in himself.

But destiny unfolding is so excruciatingly painful.

    DarksidZz, alcoholism:

Alcohol dependence has serious effects on physical and mental health. Alcohol dependence can lead to a wide range of neuropsychiatric or neurological impairment, cardiovascular disease, liver disease, and malignant neoplasms. The psychiatric disorders which are associated with alcoholism include, major depression, dysthymia, mania, hypomania, panic disorder, phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and suicide, neurologic deficits (eg impairments of working memory, emotions, executive functions, visuospatial abilities and gait and balance) and brain damage. Alcohol dependence is associated with hypertension, coronary heart disease, and ischemic stroke, cancer of the respiratory system, but also cancers of the digestive system, liver, breast and ovaries. Heavy drinking is associated with liver disease, such as cirrhosis.[3]

I might add this to the list: losing jobs, opportunities, friends, respect, money, etc etc etc. Nuff said.

You always make me smile, so how about this:

I'm around 29 and have recently begun visiting a few bars in Old Town Pasadena. Up until Tuesday I never would've stepped into a bar (since I didn't drink) but nice guys never get a break and the sad truth is the chick I should've (in another life) started dating is infact married. It was a good time but just got me down, knowing how I'm always getting attached to these married chicks just by sheer randomness. Anyway it really is bad since we work together and I'm trying to avoid her now. She had been friendly so probably doesn't notice much, married chicks hopefully are busy and don't think like that anymore?!

She wanted to go out for my birthday, in honesty I'd rather go out alone since being around her is DEPRESSING since it reminds me of a girl years ago, and now this one :ugh: So my real points are:

    1. Does anyone who's single and a guy actually meet chicks at a bar if they themselves are alone? Don't chicks just go with their boyfriends, etc.

    2. What dirnks are good for first timers to try, I've had Samuel Adams (great stuff), Guinness, Sierra Nevada, Hefeweizen (I liked this) and another I forgot what it's name was.

I'll tell ya where I been going so you can help out:

    http://www.barneysbeanery.com/
    http://www.fredsmexicancafe.com/

So far those are the same two the girl and I went to during Saint Patricks Day. I felt comfortable going back there since this area seemed pretty decent for bar hoppers. What are your thoughts on finding chicks in places like those, etc. especially if you're alone?

Hell I had a guy hit on me and try offering me drugs, that was nerve wrecking since I'm straight. It made me laugh since it would've been more depressing had I not been on my 5th beer.

Bugger them - whoever "they" are.

    Gotta respect yourself first.

Besides - I'm tellin' ya - you need falling in love like a hole in the head.

You need Wham, Bam, Thank you ma'am !

Just slap a helmet on that soldier !

You're out in the Free Freak Republic of Cali - IIRC.

God knows what those sicko liberal crotches are crawling with !

    LoL !

    Ugh.

White Russians are made with vodka & milk.

I'd go with the Black Russian - vodka & KahlĂșa - but then again I hate milk.

    Old Town ?

Ever see the film Sin City ?

    heh.

Bugger all this "would have in another life" stuff.

I bet this woman is just all a tee-hee over the fact that she's thinking of herself as an "old married hag" and here's some dude showing her some interest she didn't think herself capable of generating any more.

Remember Rule #1 - Women are as crazy as men are. The different hormones zipping thru their brains just make it show up in different ways.

Geez, I have been led to believe that the 'pace of life' out there on the West Coast is supposed to be so much more free-wheeling & zazzy than here in the backwater West End of the Soviet Socialist Republik of New York that I find it hard to believe that if your humble narrator could hook up even though I am but a dumb Polack anti-social SOB, that you should sure as hell be able to do so there !

    Hefe... mmm... Franziskaner ?

    First time drinks ?
    errr...

Maybe you should stick with the brewskis for the time being.

Failing that - clear spirits will leave less residue in your noggin next morning.
I like gin, but some people tell me it's horrid.
You might as well try whatever sounds good to you. After all, if you loathe it you don't have to order another.

That "Route 66" place seems a bit trendy for my tastes.

Still - you might happen to meet some woman who's just stopped in for a drink to help erase the effects of a 'day at the office' or whatever.

Or you could approach some gal at the Mexican joint and tell her you eat a mean taco...

Hell's Bells kid - If you see somebody who looks good to you, just say "hi".

The worst they can do is shoot you.

Well yet again the best advice is Killjoys advice, lol Seriously I'm considering this, I'll go out weekends to drink at these bars, they have alot in Old Town Pasadena near Raymond. This way I won't get screwed if there's nowhere to sit (unless you're in a group). Let me tell you how things went today:

I park far away from the bar so I don't need to pay for parking. It's a side street somewhere. Needless to say I got a hefty walk to get to the real area with bars. It's cool, I caught a smoke on the way and some guy an me laughed cuz the damn intersection light changed to quick so we had to wait to cross.

I've decided to turn this into an experiement of sorts...... darky darky is always a nice boy, always proper and respectful, but shit that got me nowhere. But I also feel the other end would pretty much be the same. So far I've discovered I hold drinks pretty well, I basically had 8 beers today! lol sadly I met no chicks (surprising since it was 10-4 the first time?) but heck the new bar I ended up at was pretty shitty. I mean listen this bar was small IMO compared to the other one, it also had lame music and most people there already knew eachother and were playing crappy pool.

Oh wait, lol This was hilarious, when I went to walk in there first the guy who was a bouncer stopped me, who the hell knew he was a bouncer I was so out of it from the previous 6 beers earlier lol But he stopped me, I was like Oh wow, then I gave him the ID and went in. The girl at the bar was lame, she was older and pretty unpleasant. I got a gennis and sat in a corner somewhere it was dark.

Honestly it wasn't packed, it was later though. I'd rather stick to Fred's anyday. Yea, so I mean it wasn't a total waste but sure as hell you wont' meet anybody there.

Hum, oh now listen to this fun part. Some chick was walking around and seemed lost, so I was like "just ask if she's lost" and I did. She was asian and said "no I'm not lost just looking for somewhere to eat, I'm supposed to meet a friend at a bar later." I was like "they don't have food at that bar eh?" She was like "no". Anyway it was funny the conversation, it lasted like 2 mins but she was kinda hot and pleasant. I just was lost on why she was walking aimlessly around looking for... in her words... "a cheap place to eat."

Anyway that's my story so far, also do you guys think drinking beer during lunch hour at work is wrong? There's a bar within walking distance and I'd like to continue going there for lunch now instead of the break room (where that hot weird girl I like is). Any thoughts?

However................ remember this ppl, it's an experiement, darkie has never been in bars since 29 years, this is his real first exposure to them. So far nothing real interesting has happened, I don't expect shit. I am going to be totally detached from any outcomes, I'm going to try the beer and chill out. It will last 1 month, if at that time I see any reason to continue then I shall, if somehow I get fired for changes in my behavior then so be it. I've been a model person my life so it's time to do what I want and see.

    Thanks killjoy

Update: I forgot some stuff, there's a cover charge at Fred's of 5 dollars because of live bands now playing, then umm what else... you know I think I should work at a bar, damn it'd be easy, well on the other hand I couldn't drink so maybe not

    Existential stuff

Maybe you can't know yourself until you truly take part in society, the reason I started going to bars was I had such a great tiem with that girl I felt horrible that it would only ever be a friendship, and then I realized I was pretty lonely. So basically that's what did it, but even more interesting.....I thought to this thing I have, a shaman game thing. It said to deal with lifes challenges by looking back at how others have dealt with them too. In my case I know for a fact ppl drink when they're going through a rought time. So I figured if it was good enough for my ancestors then eh.

    More to come!

PS I just realized there's a Barneys Beanry very, very close to where I live. I could walk it if I was desperate! lol Hummm

I don't really trust people who go to pubs by themselves, unless they're meeting up with people.

I wonder if bars/pubs in the US are culturally similar to pubs in the UK?

I'd bet on it, lol That's why I'm just focusing on going there to drink, I'll have as much chance of meeting someone there as I do here all alone or at work lol

Update: It's Sunday, I was gonna stay here but I feel better, besides everyone where I work is probably out partying with their friends, so in effect I'm depressed just by thinking about it. I am going to try finding Barneys beanry over in Burbank, it's near where I live (but I'll drive it) and we'll see what happens. I wanted to goto Barnes and Noble near my job then head over to Jax Bar but that would seem kinda lame today, let's go all out. I'm gonna go for 2 beers I think, ok well see ya

Another update: So I went to the bar, guess what? It was not even there! LOL Talk about bad luck haha. It seems the thing was replaced with some other weird thing, I forget what now but hell it sure ain't a bar. So I'm glad I didn't walk it, I drove.

After driving I basically decided to go right back to that Fred's Mexican Cafe', I got there and had 3 beers and nachos. There was like nobody else there lol it was people eating not getting drunk haha. I guess that's what happens though, I mean hell who knows where singles go on a Sunday night. So basically I just ate and drank alone. Seriously the bartender was ummm blond, she was kinda lame, not hot but I realize I like black hair way more than blond =P So in the end that's what it was, a time alone in a bar.

I smoked when I got to my car and thought about all the time I've lived and really never found anyone I got along well with, it was like realizing you are just weird, lol I forgot to mention I had asked this chick from work if she wanted to have drinks, it's someone I use to like until I met the new girl whom I think is kinda like a soul mate. Anyway she said to text her and we'd take it from there, to bad I don't have a cell phone. Instead I just went to a bar and drank Friday lol Honestly why girls can't ever be more logical and plan is beyond me. So in the end I never got to text her, besides it brought back terrible memories of texting Carmen

Hey, so basically today was Monday and after my (5 day drinking binge of beers) I got to work and was basically going to avoid that girl. Sadly she's already imprinted me as FRIEND and shortly near lunch emailed asking if I'd be there today because she had pictures to show me. I suffered it and said I'd be in there for 1/2 the hour. I got there and she was sitting with that coworker of mine, it made me sick thinking what they'd been discussing (me and my odd behavior and the smell of smoke?). But seriously there I was and I sat down talking to her, it's funny how naive young women like her can be. Anyway I listend for awhile to various stuff then she mentioned wanting to go out on my birthday (and bring along our coworker whom she'd earlier said was gay and annoying?! Changed her mind fast eh), I was like "um". I cringed at the thought.

So half-way through the end of the hour I realized she hadn't even shown me the pictures she said she had brought, I was thinking "wtf". You know what she did? She gave me the ones with her and I together, it made me rather sick. I was thinking "great she doesn't even want them." haha So much for romantics like me eh? The one thing I have done that I thought might help was get a journal to write some of my poems in, I realize I can write and haven't because I was never focused. I gotta tell ya I'm changing perspectives alot, as for her I'll let her be friends with all the other guys who actually have girlfriends or wives... myself it's way way to depressing.

I think she'll back off now, I wrote an email saying basically this "You know my birthday? Well I in honor of my bad luck recently I'm just going to throw what's called a pity party, have a drink alone somewhere in a bar. Thanks though!"

Her reply was something like "well it's your birthday so if that's what you want." haha

I did get a book though on native american stories, oh well :\

She's a friend. She didn't do anything wrong. She just didn't feel the same. I know it hurts right now, but try not to take it out on her.

DarkSidZz...you need to forget about American women, they are immoral, evil, and are not looking for long-time relationship and if they say they are than they are lying.

Focus on finding a girl overseas. Asian or European girl. It is possible, believe me! Because I have found. =)

No. that is a lie, Americans want you to believe in. In reality they just want to be loved.
