To indulge my morbid fascination with what distorted definition of content creator you'll be forced to adopt, could you say which ones? Not the ones I've met, worked with or been.

Which, if you'd read my post properly, you'd know wasn't the point. The argument was how paying for content could be encouraged. The answers are pragmatic measures that have the desired effect. If you want to retrodict ethical generalisations from that it's your affair. Because it isn't possible. There is no technological solution. It is mathematically impossible to produce content that can be watched but cannot be copied. You don't have to take my word for it, I've only worked in the industry for nine years, and only studied the subject for four. You can find out for yourself, find out what world renowned experts say about it. It simply cannot be done. It doesn't matter how much profit there is in convincing distributors and their lawyers, it is impossible. And I don't mean difficult, I mean contrary to the fundamental nature of the universe. The only option you have is persuading people, either by making your product as good as the pirated one, or by threatening them with force.
So by "content creator", you include "ngos and lobbyist organisations which oversee the guidelines used by companies who employ people who are content creators". I see. That makes more sense now. If only I'd known all along that when you said "artists" you meant "lawyers and lobbyists". So you'd better repeat your mafiaa propaganda louder, because that makes it more true. Or go back and reinterpret what you said to try and making look less idiotic in light of the facts. Toss a coin maybe.
LOL, a little checking shows that DVD players are available (and have been for some time) in Australia that will play all regions. http://www.shopbot.com.au/multi-region-dvd-player/price/australia/347211
Sure it can. It' not about copying, it's about getting paid for something. Money has to be transferred and that can in fact be stopped.
BS, none of those were publishers (I took out ASCAP). Associations of artists count. And lots of them were single people. And I only went through the Es Clearly a LOT of people disagree with you. And they are content creators. No one is so blind as someone who will not see.
@ Arthur, You've provided lists of companies which support SOPA, can you name any actual artists--as in musicians, filmmakers, engineers, et al? I personally know a few thousand, mostly musicians but plenty of the other (and obviously, there's a lot of cross-over) and personally, I know maybe 3 or 4. And, like I said previously, they tend to vacillate on their positions. And please, spare me a list that includes such, uh, "musicians" as "Dixie Chicks" and the like, whatever the fuck that is.
Interesting how many people feel they are entitled to get an artist's work for free. But yet, they still expect the artist to work. Amazing how little we value art in this day and age.
Actually its the distributors that most people have a problem with, they are the ones in breach of the trade practices act, they are the ones in breach of the US Australian Free trade agreement, they are the ones in breach of every other free trade agreement that Australia has.
WOW you found ONE brand (which i have never herd of) which isn't in breach of the trade practices act. WHOOOOOOW, now find me a region free playstaion, wii and xbox
I already asked and, not surprisingly, got a very vague responses. Ohhh, but he "cares" so much. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
What's wrong with companies? Most content creators get paid by signing contracts with these companies. So the company's motives and theirs coincide. Why do associations of Artists not count? If you will notice, in that list there are a lot of companies that represent the work of ONE artist, who in most cases would be the owner.
Actually, MOST content creators sign no such contract--where on earth are you getting your information? C'mon now Arthur--You made the claim, now PROVE IT.
