I know that is a stupid coment. Stormtrooper armor are heat resistant, but not blaster-proof. Check this for some more info on Stromtrooper armor.

    Would never work...

    1) There are multiple safeguards in place to prevent such a thing... for example, needing clearance just to LAND near the Academy.

    2) If he goes hostile, he'll get raped by wide-dispersal phaser fire... you cannot block something that covers the ENTIRE area in front of you... it'd be like trying to stop floodwaters with a lightsaber - wouldn't work.

The Ent-E traveled thru time, because the Borg Sphere initiated the gateway... And you can shoot all you want mate - as already stated before, the shielding of much smaller starship classes have withstood energies and firepowers almost on par with your DS Superlaser. What makes you think the Sovereign, with regenerative, multi-phasic shielding, won't survive it just as easily?

I said he would land on Vulcan or Earth first.
Edit: I didn't mean near the Acadmey.

It also protected the troopers from very harsh environments as well as projectiles and kinetic energy weapons.[1]The armor might be penetrated by a blaster bolt, but it reduced damage from the bolts significantly. The body glove allowed for operation in warm or cold climates, however it could protect the trooper from almost any environment -- from total vacuum conditions to the very extremes in cold and heat for a very limited period of time.

    From that site...

It couldn't do ANY of that... we've already seen images where their helmet is near falling off!

Also, ROCKS THROWN BY EWOKS managed to damage the armor... not very kinetic resistant... and arrows went right into it, no problem...

How about rapid blasts from 60 Turbolaser, 60 Ion cannon, and Deadnaughts, Crusiers, and more.

Ofcoruse you can take the helmet off. It didn't even leave a mark on the armor. And the arrows went through the cloth connecting the joints not the plates. Remeber it is 18 peice armor, somthing got to connect it.

The quantity is MOOT if the quality is unable to even damage the shield...

It'd be like trying to kill an Elephant by stabbing it with a thousand wet noodles... it won't work.

    Uhm, no, no, and no.

Do you REALLY intend to make me get the pictures AGAIN to prove this... fine... here they are...

That PROVES that basic falls can crack the armor... some kinetic resistance...

If you REALLY insist, I can find images of the arrows sticking out of the backpack and rear armor of the stormtrooper... quite pathetic if you ask me.

And if a simple fall can damage the armor so badly, so can rocks... as they have a higher impact even with a lesser speed due to far lower contact area.

First two, it shows nothing, except they got thrown off clifs. Third, I will find a solusion to it. They are not the same troopers.

Again I said there have to be exposed spots, read. it is a 18 peice armor not 1 peice.

It'd NEVER hit them... we already went over this...

Hitting a planet is FAR easier than hitting a ship...

Those... are... from the same scene... they are stillcaps...

They got hit by the ewoks... knocked off the cliff... the troopers shoulder armor is now damaged.

END OF STORY. There is no getting out of this one! Watch the scene yourself!

There's a rpoblem though - if there are exposed spots, how the HELL is that armor airtight?

First of all, nothing in Star Trek has withstood anything even remotely close to the level of the Death Star. The energy to just defeat the gravitational binding energy of a 1G planet is equivalent to the total output of our sun for 7 years. Enterpise D couldn't even survive a day at .5 AU from a G-type star that was solar flaring.

We have seen Photon Torpedoes used a variety of time on a planet and at no time were they even as impressive as the one hundred ton blast you can watch on youtube. Yet a few of these Torpedoes is enough to severaly weaken the shields of a starship. The only time that the photn torpedoes were more impressive is in Rise and that was a singular torpedo that may have been modified. Even then the dang thing failed to do more than shatter a brittle asteroid.

Face it, we have never seen Star Trek deflect an attack that was on the scale of the trench gun that vaporized asteroids in ESB.

In all fairness if Star Trek was the Elephant and ISD opening up with all guns would be like 60 eight inch guns with HE warheads all handing directly ontop of the elephant at once.

Typical of Scott to ignore the information he doesn't like...

Too bad that "trench gun" has been proven, time and time and time again by multiple people from multiple timespans of this topics life to have about the same destructive potential as a standard phaser rifle...
