the only explanation is that the person whom came up with those power and destructive statistics did not actually realize that he was printing numbers which were nowhere close to what he imagined. And that he gave numbers that were way to high for what they thought.

Considering how overexxagerated the numbers are I'd estimate that one megaton in star wars is roughly equal to maybe a few kilotons in trek.

    How is THAT, not propaganda?

While I agree with "Reagan and his dumb-ass friends" statement, on a tactical level that isn't the only reason why they had such a hard time.

Yes politics played its part. Such as our F-4s couldn't fire on their Migs when they were on the ground, they had to wait for them to come up in the air. (which makes me just go %$^%*&!!!!!)

But U.S troops didn't know the terrain as well, snipers were extremely demoralizing, they were adept at hiding, popping out of no where, killing a group of soldiers, and dissappearing, (they employed guerrilla tactics very well ) they also used this well with hitting our bases with mortors, and dissappearing. It doesn't help that were pretty much playing a defensive campaign of which we weren't "allowed" to strike back (Political meddling..). I won't even go into civilian (or who was thought to be civilian) involvement -some nasty stories there people may not be ready for.

Course now that I think about it, your right, me using that was a horrid example, and you got me there....anyhow I am derailing the thread, and I'll shuttup now.

(I love to ramble, I know..)

Unfortunately I don't think anyone is really "qualified" to make that comparison.

Even though I gave up on this debate ( no time, plus not significant enough knowledge about Star Wars and know almost next to nothing about Star Trek ), some comments just make my day :roflmao: Thanks! lol!

Correct me, but if I remember correctly, Ricrery threatened to leave a considerable number of times, when I last went on.....and yet he is still here....

You're attempting to distract again. Yoda DID lose his marbles, and Padma became hysterical.

EDIT: Jango/Boba was the only person who was mentally well.

I am not disagreeing with that point, I am sure you and I could probably go back and forth on the stupidity of the politics and the crap that went on, (have a lot Vet friends here -navy and marines- from the war) and probably could swap stories...but yea, it doesn't belong in this thread.

    The Asteroids are small here.
However the torpedoes are launched Time-On-Target
The Left Asteroid seems to be the closes and the Right Asteroid seems to be the furthest distance. These asteroids are probably 50 or 60 meters wide.

This is confirmed as a shield-less impact.
Kira notes they underbelly is the weakest area of armor.

And image of the Same Bird of Prey After taking these shots. Note the Weapon did not penetrate the other side of the thin Wing Section. Note also that the ships damage was too the impulse engines and was later quickly repaired and the Bird of Prey was really only stunned. This is mostly due to the fact that the freighter barely had the power to fire this outpost weapon.

Do birds of prey have the ability to move their "wings"?

In the Screenshots you took of the ship being fired upon, the wings look like they are angled downward, but when you show the screenshot of the same bird of prey next to a planet, the wings are obviously not angled down.

EDIT: And what is this "outpost weapon" you speak of? Was this mentioned earlier in the thread and I missed it? Or is the weapon destroying the asteriod the same weapon firing upon the bird of prey?
