Again, good luck. You're ships are incredibly large, heavy, and ungainly... hell, 1/3rd of most of your warships are ENGINES alone... in comparison, the Federation uses mass-lightening technology... for example, the Sabre and Venture class starships (destroyer escort and scout frigate respectively) have agility that matches, if not exceeds, a modern day F-22 Fighter jet... and ships like the Sovereign and Prometheus class aren't much less agile... perhaps maybe 75% as agile... so no. You don't stand a snowballs chance in hell of ramming our ships...

No, but it's widely accepted that a turn is around 4-8 seconds. In D&D, projectile weapons need to be nocked or loaded (bows and slings) hence the 1 shot a turn restriction... where as melee weapons take longer to use, but some light-blades can get 2 hits a turn.

And again, in D&D, you can move twice (full move), move + standard action, or take a full-round action, or a minor action before any of those aforementioned.

It was... look at the screencap - it was only about 4 times it's own diameter from the rebel base...

We're not talking about tiny lil proton torpedoes... we're talking about firepower that makes DS9's defense against the Klingon Fleet look like a kid with a firecracker.

Because, as I already said - you're ships are far "heavier" and their engines less powerful... thus slower and ungainly...

It'd be like a B-52 bomber trying to ram an F-14 Tomcat... it just wouldn't work...

Which is why Star Trek wins hands down in that department as a single starship of Destroyer class or higher can do that in less than an hour... if not minutes.

But Kitt, those are basic lasers. Inevitably you get the best phaser you can and cant get any better, and you start looking to improve older tech to make them even more powerful than the phaser. And so evolved the 40k plasma and lascannon weapons. They are no longer simple lasers or plasma guns, they are many times more destructive.

And heres some simple logic for why SM shields are more powerful.
1.) a terminator suit was originally made and used to maintain a plasma core reactor for extended periods of time.
2.) As we all know those kinds of reactors can get several times hotter than a star (theres even a modern day one i heard about that get 3 times the temperature)
3.) Ergo, the shields on terminator armor can withstand a stars temperature for very long pieces of time. And than some
4.) Ergo, the many times more massive and powerful shields on the battleships can withstand being in a star for good amounts of time.

If it your starships can only stay at that temperature for a decent amount of time, and my terminators were designed to regularly go into that amount of temperature and punishment for lengthy amounts of time. Ergo, your phasers cannot possibly have the same energy output of an enhanced plasma core reactor let alone a star, and so, Terminators would be relatively unharmed by your little guns.

Im getting bored of argueing 40k vs. feds, argueing feds vs. SW was a lot more fun. Although we really never answered the question, how would the enterprise fend off thousands of fighter craft? It doesnt have a good rate of fire for that many ships, and its shields can only stay up so long......

yeah right on the scanner. :bugeye:
on the rebels scanner the gas giant is 4times bigger than he apears on the ds scanner. :bugeye:

Maybe he has a zoom in option? Imagine if in SW all of the planets on the scanners were presented by google earth? They have a zoom in button.

would be pretty funny, top right of scanner "presented by Google Yavin"
For tatooine it would probly say "presented by Google Cesspool" jk

Problem is, Lasers have a theoretical max... it's basic physics. So do Plasma based weapons... Phasers, though, work on a completely different effect

Considering Lasers and Plasma guns have been long ago maxed out in Star Trek, Phasers are obviously MUCH more powerful... I don't care how much raw energy you dump into a laser... it can ONLY get so powerful... the Photon itself only carries SO much energy.

And while Terminator Armor and Shields are able to withstand that kind of temperature... I doubt it'd help. Why? Phasers detonate your OWN ARMOR...

It has a great rate of fire, just not when each shot is max power

That's the Ent-D firing max-output shots at a borg cube...

Multiple beams from the same emitter

As for great rate of fire from one strip:

About 25 seconds into the video - multiple attack craft popped via short, high-power bursts

You can see her charging two separate shots

No kidding. In Conundrum TNG the Enterprise split it's phaser array into 6 to 7 different beams and completely vaporized a group of fighters.
