Have you ever watched that show on History channel Asia about the end of the universe?

If the end of the universe already happened years ago and a new universe was formed again could the survivors of the last universe have written those greek myths???

No.

Greek myths were borrowed from nearby nations (as in most cases) and developed from specific events natural to the ancient Greek world.

Most tribal myths were passed down verbally thorugh the generations. By the time the Phoenicians gave Greece her writing, the various tribes there had developed their own concepts of how the explain the vagueness of their reality and unexplainable factors in nature (sun rises, winter, tides rising and falling, love, etc.). This pattern was repeated in every other tribe on Earth, including the Jews, who only formed monotheism after their expulsion from Egypt.

A good starting point would be Wikipedia. Scroll to the bottom and identify the source material and take a look at it.

How would anyone have survived "the end" of a previous universe? If they did, it would have required an act of divinity, in which case these tales probably wouldn't have been myths.

Hello farronhart,

Welcome to Sciforum YES, as anything is somewhat possible, but I have no idea how that could have happened. String is right, some of the myths were borrowed and others just developed.

Isn't history circular? Myths are just history as we imagine it to be, rather than history as it is. Its the difference between using your mind to recollect and using a videotaped recording.

remember though that the telling of these stories can discover natural repeating rhythms that develop, over time, into complex logarithms of great importance ~the mayan calander

Why would beings at the end of the universe believe such nonsense? They would presumably be highly advanced. But hey, not even God can survive the end of a universe.
