Saw this last night. It's good and it is scary. The best horror I have seen in a while. My girlfriend was cutting off the blood flow in my arm.

Avoid the previews. I think one_raven was referring to it too, but they show a snippet of the climax and most shocking scene in some of the previews! I knew it was coming for the whole movie.

Don't analyze it too much though. Sure there are inconsistencies. It's just a movie intended to scare and tell a creepy story.

To describe the film I can't help but refer to the Blair Witch Project. If you thought The Blair Witch was boring then give this a miss. Paranormal Activity is very similar but is better.

It didn't scare my mother, who is frightened of loud noises in cartoons and is still afraid of Jaws. If it couldn't scare her, it's probably a waste of time for me to go see it. I really want to be scared... but I haven't really been scared of a movie since the miniseries of Steven King's It, oh and The Ring got me pretty good too. But nothing but disappointment since.

It's minimalistic compared to other horror. Some people won't be into it.

Blair Witch sucked too, so you may be on to something.

I've constantly pined for the time to be given back to me for watching that film, if you are suggesting this one is similar then I'm keeping my couple of hours and doing something else with them.

I think you will find direct coorelation between thos who like that and this, and those who were disappointed in that and this.

If you didn't like Blair Witch, put your time and money to good use...
See Where the Wild Things Are, instead.

There are no computer generated ghosts, no actors running around with monster make up on. There were almost no special effects at all. There aren't that many shocks through the movie either, just increasingly unnerving scenes that lead to the ending. It's more subtle and you probably have to try harder to get into it. Some will find it boring, particularly when compared to other horror.

Having seen nearly every horror in the dvd shop this movie is refreshing. There are no cheap shocks to pad out a generic story e.g. someone wakes up and sees something shocking but is just dreaming, someone closes the bathroom mirror to see something behind them which isn't there when they turn around, hallucinations ect ect. So there are less scares but more creepy scenes that you think about afterwards... when lying in bed.

The documentary style horror movie is a limited concept though. There's the blair witch and this. No more are needed.

The worst thing was that cheap ending *spoiler /spoiler*.

Don't quote this, or you will reveal the spoiler!
The original ending was much better.
**Below is the alternate ending, obviously a spoiler***
http://www.filmsnmovies.com/video/11...ernate_ending/

I guess Hollywood didn't think it packed enough of a punch from the 2007 release and changed it.
--> In white, spoiler... if you look in the background at 5:22 or so the demon turns on the light in the room and then off again at 5:35 then the door slams right before he shoots her (to scare him into shooting her)...I guess it wasn't obvious enough

I have no idea what your talking about, but I've been enticed, I think I'll go see it. I'll just have to go scrounge around my place for $8.

I really need to slow down my reading. For a second I swore that it said, "It didn't scare my mother, who is frightened of loud noises in cartoons and is still afraid of Jews."

lol

I saw it. It wasn't bad, but it sure wasn't scary. So disappointing.
