Update:

DAY 4 will end a little past the advertised deadline, maybe 1-1.5 hours later (due to RL commitments of the moderator).

In other words, NIGHT 4 will begin in around 4 hours.

You can use CCTV on one person every day. It stops that person's vote for one day and one night.

At the end of DAY 4, the remaining townspeople gather to decide who will be arrested today.

The Police Officer (Betrayer0fHope) is present, but has not reported on his investigations today.

Two names have been mentioned most today as probably mafia: the Mayor (Asguard) and the Lawyer (Norsefire), although there are 3 other names have been bandied about at times.

The Casino Owner (USS Athens) has decided to put the Mayor (Asguard) under CCTV surveillance for today and tonight, so the Mayor's vote does not count today.

After a day's thought and debate about who might be Mafia in the town, the vote is almost unanimous. Here are the results of the town vote:

Norsefire is out of the game since nothing can save him from arrest.

He goes to join the Travel Agent (SAM) as the second person sentenced to life imprisonment.

Satisfied of a job well done, the townspeople prepare to settle down for the night, hopeful that they have solved (or at least made a dent in) the problem of Mafia domination of a once-friendly town.

It can now be revealed that the Lawyer (Norsefire) was NOT a member of the mafia.

Once again, the town have arrested one of their own.

The ratio of townspeople to mafia is rapidly diminishing. The town had better start arresting Mafia soon, or else the Mafia will dominate the voting from here onwards and surely come to rule this town.

DAY 4 and NIGHT 4 are the end of the Entertainer's (Challenger78) period of immunity. With numbers in the town diminishing rapidly, nobody is above suspicion any more, and people have started to look out for themselves. As for the Mafia, they are becoming more efficient killers as they gain practice, and may now even be able to take out the high-profile Entertainer - if he is not a member of the mafia himself, of course.

The Mayor (Asguard) has attracted a lot of attention in the past few days, and has come close to both death and arrest. Tonight he remains under CCTV surveillance. If he is mafia, he will not be involved in any killings tonight.

[size=+2]Mafia - DAY 5[/size]​

There is a sense in the town that nobody is safe any more. The remaining townspeople spend an almost sleepness night keeping a lookout for anything suspicious. Some of them gather together in small groups for mutual protection, but even they keep a wary eye on each other.

The Mayor (Asguard) spends a nervous night at the Casino, and is seen talking to the Casino Owner (USS Athens) over drinks while watching the Entertainer (Challenger78). The Casino Owner has decided to close the Entertainer's show after tonight, since he has to pay too much and business is on the decline. This means that the Entertainer will not be in the public spotlight as much.

In the privacy of his suite at the hotel, safe in the knowledge that the Bodyguard (skaught) is just outside his door, the Casino Owner watches the Mayor on CCTV for a while, before grabbing a few hours of restless sleep.

The Police Officer (Betrayer0fHope) walks his beat, along Main Street, past the boarded-up Travel Agency. It is getting lonely around here. He sees a few figures huddling around a burning oil drum just off the town square, and goes to see who is there. The Village Idiot (unixgeek13) is discussing the previous day's events with the Hobo (BlueMoose) and, of course, the Gossip (11parcal), who is always eager to find out what other people know. The Police Officer stops briefly for a few words, then heads off to check the Gun Shop' s security.

The Gun Shop Proprietor (phoenix2634) doesn't want any more killings or attempted killings in front of his shop, so he has rigged up a camp bed inside the shop itself, and when he is not sleeping he is watching the street outside.

The Taxi Driver (nietzschefan) is again on night shift, but business is slow tonight. He is seen cruising back and forth down Main Street from time to time, looking for fares.

In the early hours of the morning, the Village Idiot (unixgeek13) wanders off get a few hours' sleep, muttering to himself. The Gossip (11parcal) also decides that this is a good time to head home for the night and walks away in the opposite direction. The Hobo (BlueMoose) is left to warm himself in the dying light of the fire in the oil drum.

With most of the town in a restless slumber, dawn finally breaks. It is cold and foggy. People begin to emerge warily from their houses. Life must go on.

Again, a body is found soon after dawn. Near the burnt-out oil barrel, the Hobo (BlueMoose) is found splayed-out on the ground, a dark red bloodstain around his head, still sticky. He has been neatly shot once in the head, and has a surprised look similar to that of the Bartender killed the night before. He is clearly dead, and has been for some time.

The Gossip (11parcal) never made it home. His body is discovered by a newspaper worker coming out of the Plazma Times building, following publication of the morning edition. The Editor (neitzschefan) had been in his office for much of the night, but instinct impels him to rush to the alley next to his building with a camera when the cry is raised. Thus, he is first to snap exclusive photos of the latest mutilation murder.

The Gossip, like the Doctor, is found with multiple knife slashes across his body, tearing his clothes in several places. But, most disturbingly, both his ears have been cut off and are nowhere to be found. It seems he has died from a knife slash across the throat.

People start to wonder if all these murders can really be the work of the Mafia. Or could it be that somebody else in Plazmaville is killing for their own reasons?

All the townspeople know is: the killings must be stopped. And the only way to do that is to identify the true perpetrators.

However, the Gossip (11parcal) was active in the MAFIA as chief informant to the Godfather.
