Why can I feel my heart beat in a minor cut. Or is it not really my heart beat and I just think it is?
Huh? One can feel their own heartbeat in numerous places, all over their body. You don't have to cut yourself to check your heartbeat, Orly!! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Baron Max
It's probably because of the damaged nerve-endings. The damaged tissues rub against one another every time your 'heart beats'.
err, its NOT a heart beat, its a PULSE. By the laws of fluid motion (whos law i cant rember) "when pressure is aplied to one end of a fluid in a closed system, the pressure is equal across the whole fluid". There for the whole network of arteries and arterios pulses everytime the heart squeases. Why can you feel it more? probably because the fluids are leaking. Ie rather than being contained in the arteries and arterios the blood is suddenly "pumping" into the tissues which is where the nerve endings are.
You can often feel your pulse in a inflamed area. It's because the tissue swelling constricts the blood vessels.
