Sign stolen from Auschwitz found, police say

Sign stolen from Auschwitz found, police say
The police refused to divulge any details of the circumstances in which the sign was found or to speculate on the motive of the perpetrators.
Strange reaction from the Police, no information nor arrests, suspicious I wonder why?
Russia surprised by U.S., EU stance on UN anti-Nazi resolution
Russia is concerned over the stance of the United States and the European Union on a UN resolution condemning the glorification of Nazism and the desecration of WWII monuments, the Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
And now we have a motive for the theft of the Aushwitz sign; to push forward the anti-desecration agenda.

What would happen if they put up another sign? Something different, made of fiberglass? Are any sites of native American genocide or Tasmanian genocide or Aboriginal genocide or even, heaven forbid, Palestinian genocide considered sacrosanct and unchangeable?

It is considered a memorial; so that we don't forget. Schools make daytrips to Auschwitz to teach students what happened there. I think it's a good thing that such sites are preserved.

By the way, the sign was found in Northern Poland in three pieces.

It's an interesting point that Western European governments were directly involved in the Native American genocide yet there are no memorial days in Europe to mark this prolonged Holocaust.

Have you always been baiting and trolling like this and I never noticed? Or have you just gotten worse lately?

Don't forget what? Why pretend to be stupid?

I don't see your point. Should Auschwitz be demolished because there are no memorials in Europe for something that happened in the US?

Well I'll be happy to know exactly what it is we're not supposed to forget.

Seems to me there is something lost in translation somewhere. Everyone wants all the symbolism without any of the actual practice involved.

Work will set you free? honestly? By putting Jews homosexuals and gypsies in labour camps where the sick and handicapped get gassed as unable?

Honor bound to defend freedom? Really? By occupying Cuba and incarcerating people without due process indefinitely and torturing them to death?

So what are we remembering? Put anything on a sign and its justification for what goes on inside, no matter what?

Cover up your atrocities with euphemisms and jingoism?

Or should there be museums and memorials all over Europe for atrocities committed by the Americans, Australians and the English in other non-European states? [throw in any other you think relevant]

Why not build museums to other genocides, other holocausts?

How about a memorial to the Palestinian nakba in Netherlands? Thats more en pointe.

How about one to the native American massacre in Germany? They could monitor where all the sacred sites are and if the Americans are keeping them sacrosanct or forgetting what they are meant for

How about one to the Victorian Holocausts in Poland? Why can't they revisit how the British decimated millions to fund their empire?

How about one for Rwanda in Australia? One for Darfur in Italy?

In fact how about a memorial to Srebrenica in Amsterdam?

Why are we forgetting all these holocausts? Are all these sacrosanct sites adequately deified? Is anyone ensuring children go there on school trips?

What an ironic choice of last words. I do not think I could have done better.

Saudi Arabia would be more appropriate.

Why in the US? Did they tell them what to do with their petro-dollars?
