Suppose say can of coke has 5 spoons of sugar and say apple has 5 spoons of sugar. Considering both items have equal amount of sugar ( for discussion sake ), do both items have equal adverse effect on human body ?

Or is it naturally occuring sugar is processed better by the body hence the adverse effect is less ?

You're talking apples and oranges here (pun intended). There are many types of sugar, such as fruit sugar (fructose), cane/beet sugar (sucrose), etc. They have similar chemical properties, but are metabolized somewhat differently. But if you did eat two different things with equal amounts of the same kinds of sugar, the sugar would be metabolized the same in each. And sugars can have a very positive effect, again depending on the metabolic requirements at the time of ingestion.
