I was wondering how you guys feel about crushing up a vitamin as opposed to swallowing it whole.

Seems to me i urinate out vitamins if i just swallow the whole pill.

If you crush it with your teeth can it:

    1. Damage your teeth over long term?
    2. Discolor your teeth?
    3. Cause some other problem?

you can buy liquid vitamins. and there are protein powders like spirutein that have a good supply of vitamins in them.

Why would crushing it make any difference? You urinate out vitamins because your body only absorbs the amount that is needed. The rest can't be stored. Crushing the vitamins before you ingest them won't change that.

You can overdose on vitamins though. I think you're thinking of Vitamin C..

I was wondering if they would be absorbed faster through the stomach if they were crushed into smaller particles.

I have a whole bottle of them so maybe when these run out i will look into some liquid vitamins.

Thats another reason why i think maybe the crushing would send too much dosage into my blood stream. I doubt it though.

It doesn't make any difference whether you crush it or not.
And if you have a healthy diet you don't need any vitamin supplements.

Whole vitamins couldn't be excreted in urine unless they had traveled the bloodstream, meaning they were dissolved/broken down anyway. The speed of absorption is not a factor.

it's really hard to have a healthy diet nowadays. our foods and our soil is so depleted. i eat organic whenever i can, which are supposed to have a higher vitamin and mineral supply. but i find that if i don't take a mineral supplement, that i get muscle cramps.

That applies only to fat soluble vitamins. And you have to take a ton in a very short period of time. This sort of thing happens to almost nobody anymore. Another non factor.

That's just nonsense. I suggest you talk to your doctor (GP) about this.

If the soil is depleted then why do vegetable grow the same way they always have?

it doesn't affect the way they grow so much as the nutrient content in the product itself. plus now they grow even better due to chemical (toxic) fertilizers and pesticides that they inundate them with. yuk.
