Is it real? Is it scientific? Is this is fake or not? What is your explanation?

I would like everyone to post there their most rational approach to a story like this, in this format:

[ I think without mentioning any doctor names or any specific information, the story needs to be expanded upon before I can believe it. I think it is a marketing scheme]

[So many people see the same face, across different cultures, with that kind of data it must be true. I think maybe this man is something like Tesla]

    Damn it!

Well, now that I've seen it, any future occasion in which I might dream that face will be adulterated.

    Of course, big deal.

I'll put this up with ghosts and little gray aliens; it's possible, and I won't laugh it off, but I'm not going to believe it without something a bit more definitive than we've got.

What nationality is he? What race?

He could be Indian, Middle Eastern, Black, Italian...
It seems like a pretty non-descript face, and the details of dreams will often change in our recollections over time.
Not to mention it was drawn by a psychologist - even professional police sketch artists often don't do a very good job at capturing a person's essence.
Have you ever compared police sketches and captured suspects?
Furthermore, this reeks of scam/urban legend.
That is a HELL of an impressive sketch by a psychologist of a face dictataed by a patient, from memory. :bugeye:

I don't see any reason to make much out of this at all.

it is kind of creepy, it can also be psychosomatic on some peoples part. my dreams dont have detailed faces but if i know the person i am with i mainly feel\sense them there.

He has more hair but he does look like th son of Sam killer. It did not say how old the people were in the so called study so it may have been a ingrained imprint from News papers and TV from we he was captured. It is likely just some serial killer or criminal that that people have imprinted on. And it does not say how the information was gleaned from the people involved. It is likely just a bunch of freaks trying to make a name or them selves.

Just remember the guy in this photo is an actor playing a role... a real role? or a surreal role?

To be perfectly honest, joking aside, my own hypothesis of dreams would seem crazy to most.

Simply put I'd suggest that dreams are un-natural, that the basic state of all "life" would be to have the absence of dreams. Dreams are artificial and induced from an external source, this is why so many basic fundamentals are carried across dreams as a whole because if you look at the nature of resource usage on such a scale you wouldn't be looking at dreams being made individually on a 1:1 ratio, but a mergence of components shared across the whole.

Of course this would raise the usual questions said sarcastically or abusively.
    • "Where does such equipment reside?"
    • "How does such equipment work?"
    • "Who would fund such equipment?"
    • "Why create such equipment? what is it's purpose?"

I could only give speculative answers. Where it resides is a moot point currently, It could exist in certain psychiatric institutions, private corporates, government projects or even Cult occurances. (For instance all those Psychic hotlines want to prove how psychic they really are, they wouldn't make any money if it was stone cold bollocks [which it is], so they would go out of their way to make their reality, a reality even if it requires science to fabricate their delusion as being real.)

    Mod note.

Pseudo science is for threads on ufos, paranormal, and unexplained phenomena.

This thread is about a rational approach to a marketing scheme.
