Hi Guys, first post to this forum.

I was wondering if any one new of a dictionary or wiki that could provide the appropriate word for a topic of interest or phrase that can be sid with one word.

    for example:
    "homogeny"

How would I find this word if all I knew was the definition?
A dictionary that was able to assist in word searching for obserations or activities etc...a sort of theosaurus that uses a search engine to compile the key words from the definition and provides a list of single words as an outcome....
    for example
    key words:

    move, fast

outcome : run, jog, skip, accelerate, speed

Does such a thing already exist? If so any help would be appreciated ....thanks

I believe what you are describing is called a reverse dictionary. I know of two.

Wish I could post the links but my post count is currently less than 20.

Just Google "reverse dictionary." There are at least two listed. I have not checked them out.

A thesaurus is handy for this sort of quest.
