My problems with the Republican Party begin with their lack of truthfulness. Today while listening to Fox Radio I heard the host say that Obama was espousing unilateral nuclear disarmament today in Turkey. It just so happens I heard Obama's statment. Obama repeated what Reagan and others have said before, that we should strive for a nuclear weapon free world. That is not saying that The United States should unilaterally disarm. But that is very representative of the crap the eminates from Republican leadership these days (limbaugh, hannity, levine, etc). The truth is not good enough for these guys, so they have to make it up, create stawmen. And the sad part is they do it too well. As a reinforcement they promote the belief any news source reporting facts and not party line is liberal and can therefore be discounted...keeps the ditto heads burried in poop. Fear is their freind...keep them stupid and fearful is their unwritten objective. That is what I hate most about the Republican Party today. I also don't like the Republican "us" and "them". There is no longer the American way. It is the Republican way. It is the "us" versus "them" which is crucial to the Republican ditto head. Ditto heads are told you cannot believe them because they are not us. The "they" are not American, they are traitors and liberals. This modern day Republican movement is a travesty to the American way of life and will go down in history as a great blemish on the nation and the party.
What I see is what I saw happening to the Democrats when Bush came to power. At the time, Democrats became more and more radical, talking more and more shit about Bush, until it was mainstream to call him Bushitler, and BDS became so common that it even became mainstream. What I notice happening right now is that Republicans are getting more extreme since Obama got elected. Not all of them - I guess the fringe is louder these days.
Now the Republicans are touting that they will go "nuclear" if the Justice Department memos on torture are released. The previous excuse was we don't want to let the bad guys know what will happen. Now we are no longer using those tactics, so the Republican arguement becomes mute. What do the Republicans fear in releasing their torture documents? http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2009/04/torture-memo-followup
I failed to see the Dems get radical after George II election. Republicans got real radical after Clinton's election.
They are liars, warmongerers and bigots. Also they keep talking about family values but they actually promote subversion of human rights.
Buffalo Roam please do not copy...please try to think of something original. Better yet, instead of discounting the source like your fellow ditto heads, why not debate on fact?
1. They are whiny bitches now 2. They say small government and less taxes, but what they really mean is larger government with massive cooperate hand outs via putting the nation is more debt at a rate that would make a Vegas porn star look frigid! I much rather the republican party dies and the libertarians take over as a fiscally true counterpart to the democrats. 3. They wanted to waste money and lives taking over the world/eer I mean liberating the world for freedom, as if Vietnam was not a lesson learned. 4. The evangelicals, nuf' said
I used to watch Fox for entertainment value. But it really got old fast, I don't watch at all these days.
The truth is, the world is in a battle that is: Selfish Human Instinct VS 100% Selflessness. These are the Gods that do battle behind every scene. And when it comes to the instincts of men in power: You gotta grab some power, or some one else may grab that power and bully you around. If my senators and congressmen can keep me from being bullied, then they are my friends. But if I am bullied by them, then I take my marijuana case to the supreme court. I voted for legalizing it with a prescription. With that it's no worse than 100 other drugs. I would add that if anyone tokes and drives, I want serious jail time for that asshole, as I would for a drunk driver. I am also opposed to subsidizing any medical treatments for conditions that arise out of tobacco, marijuana or alcohol use. With those caveats in place, though I see it as no more powerful than many other prescription drugs.
I agree. Legalized marijuana should be prescribed. I will debate on your "no worse than 100 other drugs" point though. If marijuana is properly taken: Vaporized (not smoked), or Eaten, the health risks are dropped significantly. If it is eaten, that is optimal, but it also costs the most since it takes so much to get the effects when it is eaten. If it were legalized the cost would go down, since it is grown, rather than manufactured, thus allowing it to be properly taken into the body. Also, the summer I smoked the most marijuana the mosquitoes steered clear of me! No west nile virus for me! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Indeed they are spendthrifts and corrupt to boot...using their positions in government to pad their incomes and leapfrog into even higher paying jobs as lobbyists. They wrap themselves in the flag for the ditto heads and disgrace their office and demolish the integrity of the nation with corruption.
Some democrats do that too mind you, though I have the suspicion that democrats are usually less corrupt, I feel most politicians are so corrupt they should be put up against the wall and shot.
You're delusional. The troops cheer loudly for whomever is president. Moreover, the enlisted ranks of the military are populated with right wingers. That's a long established fact. Don't believe me? Do some digging into voting turnout within the military. Bush received HUGE applause throughout his time as president every time he went to see the troops. This doesn't negate what Obama is doing in Iraq--which I totally agree with. As to what I dislike about the Republican party: obsession with Christianity, Gays and Abortion, little focus on substance, while obsessing like pansy-assed crybabies with everything Obama does, especially what he does right. ~String
