This girl is a total idiot and should be prosecuted. If she is not, she will be opening up further doors for the spread of children posting child porn and sex offenders taking advantage. At 14, this dumb girl would know better than to do something like this.

Pictures of said girl would allow me to form a proper opinion.

On a serious note... really, come on. She's 14. 99.9% of kids that age are stupid fucks. At that same age, I got my parents kicked off AOL for repeated TOS violations having to do with cybersex, porn, and phishing. If I had a camera phone back then, I would have probably did the same thing.

What a load of crap. Child porn laws exist to protect children from sexual exploitation from adults (ergo. to punish adults for coercing children into producing pornography), not to punish children for being dumb little shits and posting nude pictures on the internet.

What children are doing to themselves is tragic.

A wake up call? I was 14 once. I was looking at dads porn stash. I even secretly copied one of his movies.

And the girl's boyfriend is around the same age as herself? The problem here isn't the act - we can't be so naive to think that kids aren't going to do this kind of thing when they are old enough.
The problem here is the method of distribution (via a publicly accessible website), and ease at which the random public can access and download it. That was the stupid part. It would be one thing if it was a few Polaroids she directly handed to her B/F, and he kept them in a box under his bed or something.....and yeah, I would still scold the hell out of my daughter if I caught her doing that (the Polaroid method). I wouldn't think of it as a crime ---- I just don't want to take care of any unplanned babies before she's off to college.

nude photos should hardly be referred to as porn. she's just an attention seeking skank. how is it facilitating child porn?

Yep, I agree. Yes, I think it was incredibly stupid of the girl, but that's all it is, isn't it? Child porno? Isn't there something in that law concerning "intent"?

I would also say ....one lousy, stupid, ignorant girl doesn't mean the end of civilization as we know it! It's simply one stupid thing ....in a vast sea of stupid things.

They try children as young as 13 every day as adults. I agree that she should not be listed as a sex offender, but she should at least be charged for distributing child porn with lessor consequences, such as chemical sterilization until the age of 18 to curb this type of behavior until she is an adult.

Oh sure, let's just fuck around with some hormones. After all, I am sure that puberty isn't natural.

i dont know. seems to me that at that age coercion is most likely a factor and i believe that is at the heart of the issue.

Is this part of "no Child left behind"?

Why not? That would subdue this urge she can't seem to control until a time at which she is legally an adult.

What she did is a side effect of puberty.

Besides, studies have been done to show that the part of the brain that evaluates RISK and CONSEQUENCES isn't fully developed until around age 20. Aside from the damage that can be done fucking with her hormones and other chemicals in her body, she will still do stupid things until she is older.

And when older she'll graduate to doing phenomenally stupid things like the rest of us.

What the fuck happened to common sense being part of the law?

It went out the door when the ideals of individualism overruled that of the ideals of society and family.

Of course. We are just better at hiding our stupid actions.

When I was a kid, I thought that when I became a "grown up," everything in the world would make sense and I would have everything figured out. Turns out, it was all a lie.

Exactly. A lot of us were able to control that side effect too, while others like her seem to not be able to.

Do you get out into the real world much?
Among pubescent teens sex is just about the only topic of interest (and, in general, the only activity).
