    Best VM ware

So the new windows 7 peaked my interest and I want to try it out but I don't have a spare PC lying around to install it on. I want to install a VM ware and install it so I don't mess up my main PC.

What's a good, free, virtual environment program. I've only come up on good virtual drive programs but I don't want to start installing a new VMware without getting some opinions.

    Any recommendations?

I used to use VirtualPC, but after MS bought it it stagnated and I haven't touched it in years.

Right now, I'd say the best free option is VMWare Server 2 - the system runs as a java based service on your machine (which kinda sucks), but allows you to run VMs from any machine on your network, including localhost.

The performance is pretty good, and you a lot more than the old VMWare player allowed.

if you can spare a few gigs, you could always partition them off for the new os
