The practise of prayer seems to be a good solution to religious differences.
You don't even have to believe in God to pray.
Buddhists, and Gamblers, pray all the time.

I often pray myself, with no certainty as to what I'm praying to.
    What do you think?

Rather than pray, I simple do.

Two hands working accomplishes more than billions clasped in prayer.

I meditate which some may think as praying but it is not.

I think you need to be more directed and more specific.

i believe that our thoughts, intentions, wills, and subsequent feelings manifest according to some law. have you ever read "the secret" or watched the documentary based on it?

I'd certainly prefer to have someone wishing me well in their prayers than cursing me.

    Greenberg.
Yes, you're right, it's not a well thought out thread proposal,
but let's see if it goes anywhere.

There isn't another thread on the subject at the moment.

Any prayer is a cry for some good fortune or luck. Psychologically I guess we think we can sway fate. Part of the package we received after original sin I would think, since we have to know what's good or not. I mean why would one need to pray in Shangri-La?

The prayer handsclasping originated from having difficult bowel movements.

I can see how this might happen in the commode under those circumstances. A better use of the hands in that situation would be to reach down and help extricate but you might not want to pray immediately afterwards.

I wouldn't. I wouldn't assume that of everyone tho. People do strange things due to religion.

Maybe LG can tell us if there really are folks over in his favorite part of the world who religiously give themselves a cow dung rubdown. Myth or truth?
