How do you Buy and Sell Stocks on the NYSE?
I was wondering how do, as an individual buy and sell stock on the NYSE? Or other stock exchanges?
Also, how do you buy currency? Suppose I wanted to buy some Yuan, what's the best way to buy it?

your in australia right?
If so then in the case of currency you could just go to a dealer which are all over the place i guess
In the case of stocks for the australian stock exchange (ASX) a website like combank could help you do it
If your seriouse about the NYSE may i suggest a stay in a mental hospital of your choice

He wants to buy stocks that have fallen really low.
I suggest you find an honest broker. Maybe someone in your bank could help.

SAM, that assumes they are going to go back up (which at this point i seriously doubt for most of them). How many more insititutions are actually going to go bankrupt before this is over?
I was lissioing to an artical about buying discount property in the US because its just so cheep and even with the ability to buy property for a few AUD's finatial advisers were still recomending AGAINST it

I just want to know in case I want to buy some stock in the future. As for the currency, I think my bank has an option for an international account - I don't want to go buy a currency and put it in my pillow! I want to have some other currencys and still get paid some interest! I just don't mind not having everything in USD and AUD.

I have bank accounts in the USA, Japan and AU but then I was thinking I wouldn't mind having a bank account that is held in AU that has currency from number of countries that I choose. Surely this is easily possible?

Basically, any brokerage account will do these days, including the electronic ones, so you don't even need to consult with a actual human broker and they will execute your trades for you, in a nice automated system.
