As governor of Alaska , Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counter-terrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds Obama's. She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counter terrorism plans. Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don't even know about. According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets. She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

She has kept all that information secret, as her important patriotic duties require. She even kept secret her meeting with McCain in February, where they may have discussed Top Secret matters about Arizona's Space Telescopes, which gather information from Space. She has also said nothing about whether moose antlers pick up Russian spy satellite data, but gone about her patriotic moose antler investigations under cover of ordinary hunting. The Vice Presidency will be safely secretive and devoted to top secret patriotic things with Palin on the job. And if she shoots anyone in the face with that moose rifle, they'll be fucking dead, none of this bullshit.
Just to bring this down to reality...any national guard unit activated for federal service, as you indicated about, no longer reports to the governor. It reports directly to the Pentagon and the president. There is no national security briefing with the Alaskan governor. And just one final point, the entire Alaskan National Guard is less than 2,000 people. This is not a large force by any American standard.
