    And is dark and gloomy?

Man, I'd love to live in such a place!

Me too. I like the rain. It's got a certain morbid beauty.

I agree with that, and I like the rain/darkness, but I also hate sunlight....seriously

Not exactly rain per se, but it's continually damp in many rainforests. When it's not actually raining, there's usually a HEAVY fog at ground level and drops fall off the trees 24/7.

Yeah, but that was in 1860.

Hawaii is probably the area with the most average rainfall per year.

Would you be happy in Hawaii, Norsefire? It's really not very "dark and gloomy" there, for the most part... Probably not the climate for oppression.

Have you considered looking for a cave behind a waterfall to move into?

Total rainfall aside, two US cities where it tends to be gloomy (overcast) the majority of the time - and accompanied by frequent showers and drizzle are Seattle and Boston. And not just the city of Seattle, but a large part of the US Pacific Northwest - especially along the coast.

i dont know if this is the place nietzschefan was refering to but there is a plato where it rains constantly. this is where the venus fly trap (and other carnivious plants) evolved because catching incects is the only way to get the nutirens they need. the constant streems of water wash away the soil and the netrients in the soil

I would love to live ina place like that too Norsefire. Somewhere that rains a lot, is dark and gloomy, always cold, and generally uninviting...

the west coast of the south island, NZ. the locals refer to it as the 'wet coast' irrigation is almost non-existent due to the amount of rainfall and farmers are limited to jersey cows as anything larger will pug the ground and ruin pasture.

I've been to Milford Sound in New Zealand, where it rains 182 days a year, on average (that's 3-4 days of every week, all year round).

Amazing place, though. Check out the link.
