OK, what? And also, why do you suppose that is the caricature of Muslims?

It corresponds to the oil and permits them to become collateral damages. Also permits places like Abu Ghraib, Bagram and Gitmo to continue existing [imagine Auschwitz continuing to exist once the tortures were known]. Do you think people see Fareed Zakaria and Ali Velshi as the type of people they are targeting in Iran and Iraq?

    I'm not suggesting otherwise.

Could you write up what you think is Western caricature of Muslims?

Fair enough. I would still recommend this be the immigration policy.

Hmm let me guess, most westerners think Muslims are easy going, generally family oriented and extremely intelligent. You can depend on most of them to take marriage and family seriously and look after the aging parents and not shirk responsibility.

    Does that cover it?

Don't worry, even the Chinese Koreans etc, will soon prefer not to immigrate.

Racism is present in society, only racists deny this. Racism is a prominent part of the anti-Islam movements in Western countries and in anti-Muslim sentiment in Israel and India.
    Perfectly correct .
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are pure racism and supported by many nations although they know the US is the aggressor , the bully and the tyrant .
How can anyone explain the fact that Georgia the little ass has around 2,000 trops in Iraq ?. This is just an example and there are many others in Iraq , Afghanistan or in both . SAD .

    An aside:

Perhaps I tend to meet a particular select of people, I work at Uni and I tend to meet a lot of foreigners. Over the last couple weeks I meet a woman from Iran. She's now immigrated here and soon her husband will arrive. I introduced her to Reza so she will have some Iranian friends. Anyway, one conversation we had was about my family in the USA. So I showed her some pics of my brothers and sisters. So, she looked in her perse and found some pictures of her family. Haaa, I actually said "Wow, your sister is Hot!" Anyway, so then she had a pic of her brother. Her brother decided to study Sufi theology as well as some other ancient Jewish mystery religions and then used to teach these ideas from his home. Well, he was warned against teaching anything against Iranian theology. To make a long story short, he was picked up and put in prison in Iran for subversion against Islam. After a year he got out and moved to India. A few months later he had a sudden heart attack and died and was sent back to Iran. Interestingly this girl I am friends with is an MD. She said he was not given an autopsy. She seems to think that he was murdered.

I know another Iranian whose brother died, he doesn't talk about it, at all. So I don't know what happened to him. But, one day when we were drinking he suddenly said, if he could get my hands on an Imam I would strangle him by the throat...

    That was weird.

Are those Caricatures of Muslims or are they victims of Islam?

"Shahed Amanullah, an engineer who lives in San Franciso, California, puts it, " American values are, by and large, very consistent with Islamic values, with a focus on family, faith, hard work, and an obligation to better self and society."

    Michael:

My mother died of a heart attack. We did not do an autopsy. Is she a victim of Islam?

Most people do not do autopsies. How many people you know who have died and had autopsies on them? If the Iranian died in an Indian hospital, he was given a certificate of cause of death by an Indian doctor. I think you are biased against Muslims and have complete [paranoid] nuts as friends. Or maybe they are like Muslim and have a devious sense of the ridiculous and like to see you in action.

Yes the Moslems were quite successful at slaving, and Jihad, their own Inquisition, Colonialism, and Genocide.

Yes all societies today, and the biggest deniers of their racism, are those from Islam.

Have you ever lived in a ME country? I worked with brilliant doctors from Sudan, Ethiopia in KSA. They were given housing in the same places as "white" brown and purple people and everyone was paid the same according to qualifications. The most respected doctor there was a Sudani guy. You won't see this in the US. You have a black candidate for President and all you talk about is his race and religion.

America is a racist nation because Americans have little education about the outside world as if they live in a shell . Violent movies ,divide and conquer policy , the love for materialism ...etc are no help at all .

Really, and were pray tell do you get that idea from?

I have several Indian Doctor who attend my church, and they make well into the 6 to 7, figured incomes, the homes they own are in the Million Dollar range.

There are several African Doctors on staff in the Hospitals around here, and they seem to have some mighty fine homes in the Upper Crust Communities.

My Doctor from VA is a Iranian.

Our Youth pastor is Indian, and he is in the 6 figure income range.

We go out shooting quite often, he enjoys my Black Powder firearms.

As for housing they live in some of the most prestigious communities in the area.

SAM were you ever really in the U.S.?

From this post I would say not.

    From stuff like this,

Call it TWB - Talking While Black. A person has a telephone conversation with someone he has never seen before and draws a conclusion about the race of that person based solely on the way the person sounds.

Nothing particularly insidious about that - on the face of it. We can usually tell if a person is a man, a woman, young or old, a Southerner or a Latino in the space of a five-minute telephone conversation. But linguistic profiling is somebody "acting upon that racial or demographic imprint in a criminal way by denying [the victims] access to a business transaction that should not be in any way biased, based on a person's racial background," says Baugh.

His own personal experience with linguistic profiling occurred a few years ago, when he was looking for a place to live in California. He would call up in response to an ad in the paper, but when he would show up, he would learn that the apartment was unavailable. He believes that it is because over the phone, when he uses his "professional voice," he sounds White. When he appeared in person, he was handed all sorts of excuses for why he could not rent - none being, of course, the obvious fact that he was Black.

So Baugh went about trying to prove what he had suspected. Having grown up in the inner city, in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, Baugh was exposed to a variety of ethnic dialects and considers himself "linguistically dexterous." He began telephoning renters and would say, "Hello, I'm calling about the apartment you have advertised in the paper." He would make some calls using his professional voice. Other times he would modify his voice, repeating the same sentence with the same grammar but with an intonation that was unmistakably Black. He made more than 100 calls and found that his "Black" voice got half as many calls back as his "White" voice. It did not matter that when Baugh used his Black voice he was speaking perfect, standard English.

Apparently if a speaker on the telephone sounds African-American, he is subject to the same kind of racial discrimination as he might be in a face-to-face encounter.
