The Clinton campaign is in full damage control mode. I can't believe how many sites no longer carry the video. The quality isn't as good on this video.

Here's the original video from the movie, War Room. The clip in question is from about 4 minutes in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_wKOgMNs0U
This doesn't surprise me. Democrats are elitists who think the whole middle of the country is shit. It's nice to see them showing their true colors once in a while. Why do you think middle America votes Republican? Would you support a party that, in its heart or hearts, thinks you're shit, or a "white nigger"?
Obama expressed a similar attitude with his "clinging" to guns and religion statement. This kind of thought is endemic on the Left. It makes sence, really. Doesn't the Left believe that government has all the answers? That government (in other words, them) is smarter than the people? That us lowly pions need some Harvard educated marxist to tell us what to do?

Over at the Huffington Post
Here it comes:

Not exactly the mainstream press, but it's a start.
Indeed, a review of the original copy of the 1993 film The War Room, from which the excerpt was taken (around the 4:40 mark) is virtually inaudible. The sound suggests, if anything, that instead of saying "How would you like to be a worthless white n****r?" Kantor says, "How would you like to be in the White House right now?"
The director of the film, moreover, says that Kantor never uttered those words. "He does not say that. He does not say that," D.A. Pennebaker told Ben Smith.

From the same article:
What he says later is in dispute (the whole "white niggers" bit), but there's no denying he called the people of Indiana shit. Of course, Kantor claims "those people" refers to the Bush Whitehouse. In the footage, Kantor approaches the two aides and says, "Look at Indiana -- wait, wait, look at Indiana. 42-40. It doesn't matter if we win, those people are shit."
Sure. But the issue is the characterization of middle America "clinging" to these things as though they were the sign of a mental or emotional defect. (ie The child clings to his blanket for security. We need to break him of this habit for his own good.)Last edited by madanthonywayne; 05-02-08 at 03:25 PM.

The perception of that kind of attitude, and the willingness to vote for literally anyone - anyone at all - who is the one not assigned it, is how you got the administration you have.

I think the problem is that politicians are a self selected group. A group of people willing to kiss ass, kiss babies, attend boring meetings, lie, cheat steal................whatever it takes to attain power.
To expect people from this group to not be incompetent criminals is beyond credibility.
Which is part of the reason I support limited government. I fully expect all politicians to be scumbags. I'm rarely disappointed. But the worst sort of scumbag is the one making big promises (like "I'll fight big oil" or "I'll give you free healthcare").
That shit is all 100% bullshit. I'd just like a government able to balance the budget, defend the shores, and cut taxes. But, sadly, even that is too much to ask.
