you just want to make this another "suffering of the people" case...don't you? you just don't care about the truth? Well this is a civil case, there is no manipulation, these people are at fault for their own misery.

coming from a person who refused to believe that were even hindus in kazakstan just a few paragraphs ago it seems you are just trying to make this into a "no shit sticks to soviet culture" case

sure, they are being persecuted by civil laws
the issue, that even a casual examination of the situation can reveal, is that the civil laws have been manipulated in a way to target the community

Proof that atheism wasn't the cause of the former Soviet Union's oppression of non-official ideologies.
The former powers that where in the USSR has a policy of everyone believing iin a standard belief system. That was atheistic communism. The current powers that be have the same desire, That the populace under their control believe in a standard belief system. And the former and now renewed religion of state Russian Orthodoxy is part of that new belief system that the powers that be want all Russians to believe.

So a an old harlot dusts of her long closeted robes to serve the same beast they served before. You would think that after being slapped around and kicked out by the beast she would wise up a little. But no. Once a whore always a whore.

The difference is, in oppressing all religions, they weren't being hypocrites. Now that the Russian Orthodox Church is in bed with the Russian Government, they are being hypocrites in oppressing every religion but Russian Orthodox.
