Candle Smoke

    I extinguish jar candles by screwing the lid on them. They go out and start to smoke. A few hours later, the smoke is gone. Where did it go?

    It settled on the inner surfaces of the jar.
    And, of course, it also diffused in the air inside the jar.

    so its swirling around...why does it do that?
    and it expands out? It doesn't fall down?

    I forgot the name of the effect, but it's caused by the fact that particles get attracted to nearby surfaces.
    It swirls, probably, because there is still heat coming from the wick. Warm air rises and so creates a chaotic effect.
