Here is what bothers me... when the bridge shields were down...

    1) Why didn't the armor protect it? Surely that puny little A-Wing wasn't constructed as tough as the Executor...

    2) Why did it swan dive? I mean, did everything just "turn off" when the bridge went out? Take out the Bridge on the Enterprise, and control IMMEDIATELY reverts to Main Engineering... as any good ship would do (take out the Bridge of a modern carrier and what happens - the highest in command takes over in another location... however, the ship doesn't suddenly spin out of control)

    3) Why couldn't they regain control? It's not like it was all over in a matter of seconds...

It went through the giant bridge windows the Imperials love so much.

Mainly something with the engines going heywire and it accelerate at thousands of Gs right into the Death Star.

    3) Why couldn't they regain control? It's not like it was all over in a matter of seconds...
If you mean the Secondary Bridge, that may have been taken out because IIRC an ImpStar had it's Secondary Bridge a level or two farther down the bridge tower (it should be the main bridge given I believe there are not goddamn windows on this one) and I believe the same holds true for the SSD... so the A-Wing exploding inside the main bridge possibly took it out too.

Really? Well fuck, that's just dumb engineering right there... hell, put the secondary bridge as far away as you can... chances are if something takes out the primary bridge, the surrounding area is gonna be fucked as well...

And so those really ARE windows? not just viewscreens or anything? Not even "transparent aluminium" windows? No force fields?

Christ... again, who is the engineer responsible for THAT?

  4. #19564
    A) The gravity well beat it? You mean it pulled the Executor in? So just because the main bridge was destroyed, the computer (presumably located elsewhere) suddenly said to the engines "HEY! Lets all just stop working!"? Really?
No, the secondary bridge couldn't take control because the entire fleet was pummeling it while they were falling. That, or the gravity well was pulling it in before they could take control?

    B) Terajoule reactor outputs... as stated in the ICS... yet we see they can be damaged by handheld blaster pistols, have no shields, and cannot enter FTL on their own... right, sure.
Why do you think I said reactor outputs? TIE Fighters don't use this firepower on each other, and they're very frail.

    C) Doesn't matter if Roddenburry approved it... it's Paramount. Yes, while Gene was alive, he had the final say, but he was well known for changing what was and was not canon on a whim to suite the particular need, including "canonizing" a few books and parts of the animated series. So, yes, despite your whining, Voyager and Enterprise ARE cannon. Deal with it, or leave.
Well then, Star Trek is far from realistic. Paramount (*cough* ignorant dipshits *cough*) apparently believes shitty ships like the Voyager can escape a gravitational singularity, which is BULLSHIT. Plus, when it's pulled inside, it can't survive. Pretty clear Star Trek are so full of shit, that it's not funny. Enterprise? That bullshit contradicts everything right and holy about TOS and TNG.

    D) And yet, at the same time, a single ship can glass the surface of a planet in 15 minutes... maybe it's because it's a super-advanced warship? Maybe it's because that fleet was shooting at a duranium-enriched composite alloy planet with partial deflector grids and monotanium alloy houses? Who the fuck knows. We aren't privy to all the details, but so long as you make astronomical claims about SW thanks to your EU, I'm going to keep shooting you down with cold hard facts.
You don't know what scaling is do you xD? The Earth could glass itself with its nukes alone. Destroying a crust, requires TERATONS, which it would take an entire fleet an entire hour to produce, and the mantle takes five hours. Most factions in Star Trek ADMIT planet destroying is a possibility they aren't capable of, which is why the Death Star stomps them.

Agreed. *Points at who ever the hell thought AT-TE's, AT-AT's, TIE Tanks were good ideas*

And so those really ARE windows? not just viewscreens or anything? Not even "transparent aluminium" windows? No force fields?
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith the bridge windows of the CIS windows are taken out which confirms their some form of windows.

Christ... again, who is the engineer responsible for THAT?
I would say it was the person who thought AT-TE's, AT-AT's, and TIE Tanks and such were good ideas...

*Looks at the roleplaying thread* Still in Vs. and I'm going to wait for you or anyone else that joins to start since I'm in the SB in SW one right now. *Returns to putting final touchs to IC post*

I just want to add something.

Guess neutronium isn't so impressive in Warhammer 40,000 after all, because ships have it on them!

Doesn't matter. It's a VS regardless. Have you read this one 40k/Halo crossover?

Obviously the engines were already firing to keep the ship from being sucked in - why did they suddenly shut off?

Why do you think I said reactor outputs? TIE Fighters don't use this firepower on each other, and they're very frail.

So they are incapable of channeling this incredible output to their engines, routing it to shield systems, or anythign else?

Doesn't matter what you think - because they have done it, they can do it. Unless you want to try to bring real physics into the mix, which means 90% of SW is boned...

Actually, the most we could do with our current nuclear arsenal is kill 99.999% of humanity off... we couldn't even kill all of humanity due to deep bunkers and other nuclear shelters...

And no, most factions admit planet destroying is something they dont' wish... why do you think subspace weapons were banned?

Eh, will we all ready know short of Zim using a Pudding DNA Virus or some such the Irkens would end up losing for a Vs. Debate. I think you would like the SB in SW thread over in the Spacebattles General Forum, though. Already have a bunch of Choas forces running around that I'll have to burn out at some point with my Forerunner Dreadnought.

Have you read this one 40k/Halo crossover?
Do you mean the one at SB Artech has been working on? If that's the one I have read part of it but I haven't found the time to get back to reading it.

Ricrery... on SB... is your name Deathmarine by chance...

So? Visuals are not important. It clearly fired at the core, which would be useless against a Covenant ship.

*Grabs PoW* Damn it boy, it's called roleplay! Not a debate over who wins! Get your arse over there!

    No, this one

Will you have to remember the Covenant are using their standard ship to ship weapons here and are most likely holding back because there is a Forerunner Relic on Reach.

True, but that is a super weapon and is more far powerful than the other weapons being used in that era (Ent. 600 or so Gigajoule Phase Cannons and at best 50 MT Torpodeos).

Nope, its ricrery1 at SB... the idiot deathmarine got punched into the sun over the internet because of the thread that gives you the power to do - will I just said what the power was,

Deathmarine is a selfish prick. He stated that he'd prefer 1 million dollars just to kill his dad. He admits that much money is more important. *Gag* DAMMIT, why does Spacebattles keep him on? Hey, you think I should encourage him to Rickroll someone, just to get banned?

I'll see about getting an IC post up after I'm done getting the one for SB In Star Wars finished.

Ah, yes. I got that one mixed up for a second with another one. I've read part of it and I find it to be a very good story... now I just need to find time to get back to reading it again.

I didn't know you liked either. I have read several chapters, and I'm at Prophet of Regret being the last ship. Why didn't the ships blow up the Covenant fleet? I mean... they are superior in every respect, except FTL speeds.
