Sorry but, THE GAR HAVE NO STORMTROOPERS. The only stormtroopers we've seen in the movies are the 501st legion, and they are leftovers from the Clone Wars. Clone troopers and terminate them, Fett clones have the best genome in the galaxy, natural instincts and ability are good but Dominion troops will lose because of the same reason Republic Commandos are weaker than real Mandalorians. Even though Commandos have better genes and natural talent, real Mandos have more hands on experience, so they have tactics that the Commandos never even seen before. So they are as Kal Skirata says "Data rich, Experience poor."

We never seen Star Wars adapt, because they didn't need to most of the time. Almost everywhere in the galaxy is explored and known thousands of years ago in the storyline, so there isn't anything new to adapt to. And when they adapt, they don't use enemy tech ( unless you count rebels using Star Destroyers ) they develop new toys, for example the YVH Hunter, ( Yuuzhan Vong Hunter ) Alpha Red, and the Fett-clone targeted virus. They are more than confident in their tech.

So there is NOTHING new in SW... they are at their technological apoch?

Good to know - makes it even easier for Trek, Stargate... hell, even Last Starfighter to steamroll em flat.

There is something called shields so transporters won't work. But the same shields cannot block BOTH physical AND energy attacks - so transporters could easily penetrate them. And they can have personal shield generators ( As shown in droidiekas ), Which can be overwhelmed easily or doesn't exist in the movies save for the Droidekas. they can attach it to their Katarn again, never seen in the movies.armor. They can make their own "doors", so it will be sort of hard to track them. Sorry, no. Lightsabre cannot penetrate Tritanium... simply because of how difficult a time it has with what equates to a steel alloy... Commandos can slice the UFP's computers. Maybe... if they can dodge a phaser bolt...As for getting on, a few high powered ion cannons which won't have any effect whatsoever... and a "hatch persuaders" ( charges ) which work well against ablative armor capable of withstanding the gravitational force of a BLACK HOLEwill notdo the trick. You are forgetting that Star Wars have really good weapons too, for example Centerpoint, Sun Crusher................ all of which are one shot wonders that are either destroyed or unable to be used or duplicated. Also, suncrusher can do in one ship what a SINGLE MISSILE can do in Star Trek

I forgot to mention the fact that the UFP ships can't communicate when they are quadrants apart without the use of subspace relay stations for realtime transfer of data OR ELF carrier signals that take time to travel the billions of light years between ships.. HoloNet can reach anywhere in the galaxy. Which simply proves that the SW Galaxy is VERY small... Communications is very important except when a single battle-designed ship (defiant) can ravage a whole fleet of garbage troughs (Star Destroyers) on it's own.

Accelerated aging ( there was a 20 year time skip, and they are already atleast 10 years old, so (20+10)x2 is 60 years old, but some Fett clones are made at the end of the clone wars so it is 40-60 year old clones. Clones age differently depending on the individual and don't ask why it said so in Republic Commando: True Colors ) And your point is? Also, Books are lesser cannon to Movies, plain and simple

Remember though - for a long time, Nuclear Warheads are considered Top Dog last ditch in Stargate...

nuclear warheads are perfectly effective against ground targets like goa'uld. Towards the end, you see nukes are powerless against Wraith Shields without beaming shit in.

Well, we still haven't decided the basics which are that star treck or star wars has higher firepower in the sky. I was told two different things in this thread. One that star treck is far more powerful, and the other that star wars is. All in all though, I would like to see the thread close But, I suppose it is a little bit fun and besides that I would imagine that the Jedi as mentioned in whatever year this is taking place in... Would be able to obliverate anything, therefore there being no need for a thread like this?

If the clones are what became the Storm Troopers, and clones had to have a sniping score over 95%... why do stormtroopers SUCK so badly at shooting?

because stormtroopers are normale humans that are recruted by the empire.
they are normale soldiers

1.Over a hundred fighters? I suppose it's possible. There is no point Defense on the Hives...only batteries for precision Earth Strike and ship to ship bombardment.



2.We've never seen Stargate shields be overwhelmed unless there was insufficient power available to the shields.


3.When the replicators fired a beam through a stargate starship (a device with an unlimited amount of power) once again this powerful beam gave Atlantis 9 hours before the Atlantean shield failed. His was obviously a far more powerful weapon or the zpm was partially drained already.



4.They're hit percentage isn't bad just a slow fire rate. Infact I've never seen the beam miss. Infact. The beam was capable of tracking a wraith cruiser as it accerlated to lighspeed for the hyperspace window...which is very fast.

1. has anyone ever atempted to eliminate their foghters?
2.those are funky shields then. all shields in SG function like this? it makes my think they are more of absorbtion then deflector shields. or the weapons in SG are incredebly weak.
3.ok, this becomes problematic. unlimited power or energy? both are kind od pseudo science, but power would be blashemous.
4.in that video you posted they missed at least 2 times in a row when shooting at a 35 degrees banking enemy at point plank range. whenever tehy fired at long range the enemy was static.

there is nothing inherently wrong with nuclear weapons, it's the energy output of the weapon that matters.

First, you have to consider the quantity. The Empire and the Rebels need a lot of fighters, so it means it would cost a ton of money. I don't think the Rebels have enough money to buy loads of fighters to fight the Empire, while the Empire pretty much have a monopoly on everything except for Mon Cal ships. The fighters the Rebels use are old fighters and bombers from the Clone Wars. I got to admit the Empire do have terrible turret control, but KDY doesn't sell ships for free you know, and the emperor do prefer quantity over quality. As for the targeting computers... it is sort of hard to look through a computer trying to aim when someone is shooting at you. As for computer vs human, I wonder why the confederation is in a stalemate with the clones even though the clones are vastly outnumbered.

what do numbers have to do with my post?
anyways, as far as the computers go, what makes you think, the clones don't use them?

I know they can't afford a massive invasion, but the empire is doing very well for the size of their territory.

i agree and have always wondered how much of their war machine could they spare for external ambitions?

Well, yeah but the waiting time paid off.Republic Commandos and Alpha ARCs can outmatch Dominion foot soldiers, sergeants like Walon Vau toughened them up. They got trained by the best of the galaxy, and their sniping score have to be more than 95% or they "disappear". They are professionals.

watching RoTS i tend to agree. the clones are better fighters then the Gem'Hadar as far as tactics, equipents and training goes. still it takes time to grow clones and yet again time to train them. all in all it may take months or years to field the next batch. Gem'Hadar are available twise a week. and they come as good as they get, being cannon fodder that they are. clones would be over wealmed fast.

there has never been a personal deflector in SW movies or games. Katarn's shields were ray shields. Droideka's allso. besides you don't need them transported in one piece .

no big wonder there. closed sociaties tend to do that. take the Romans for example. or the Chinese.late Roman legions were both lacking in training and equipement when compared t otheir late Republican and early Imperial counterparts.

if it was prior the Clone War's i might have agreed. but later on, there is just to few of them.
