Ok, on count 1, NO a motorcycle helmet is not better than a middle ages full helm, I have both.. I wear both, and I practice medieval martial arts. (I ride a yamaha... ) so no.
And while yes, I will admit the ability of the empire to decide where a battle happens is impressive, once the fighting starts, the real space speed of a ship at warp will dominate local tactics.

By that logic, Star Trek made the Dyson Sphere/Genesis Device/Trilithium "supernova" torpedoes/ships that can fire through a perfect cloak/phase cloak/etc and that's all that counts
Your theory - it has more holes than swiss cheese...
And yes, Vasago - the stormtroopers hit by bow/arrow and rocks died... what's this crap about them just being knocked unconscious? Last time I checked, you didn't fall unconscious from a stone arrow to the neck, you DIED.

Actually IIRC it wasn't scientists, it was mystics, force-users ( I think the info was from the Kights of the Old Republic games, I am not sure though )
Exactly, that is the gotcha of hyperspace, it is fast, but need an accuate map. It works for Star Wars because everywhere have already been explored anyways. Or they can "explore" by getting countless outdated ships to fly with bombs in hyperspace, trial and errorAlso, it does have disadvantages. Unless you have accurate mapings of the galaxy then your liable to end up in a black hole or gravity well. And slamming into a gravity well at thousands of times the speed of light is generally unadvisable.

Really depends on a lot of factors though....
They have their own individual usages.Different technology groups != more or less advanced. Lets put it this way, most people own a car, but not a plane. The plane is a lot faster, but most planes are not more advanced than most cars. (Not counting military crap here, or commercial, I am thinking single engine, private planes think Cessna.) Just because its faster, doesn't mean its more advanced.
