I wanted to see your response to my post, but whatever. To your last comment, you fail again. Sunrise Studios did not participate in the production of Halo Legends, nor did any Bandai subsidiaries. Sunrise is well known for their original animes. They rarely do co-productions, and they mostly do their few co-productions with Toei Animation.

Yeah, it seems like a Gundam in Halo movie, but it's not made by Gundam writers, even though the movie brought numerous Anime writers make all of those shorts.

This one, but some of them were crap (Matter), but others were really good (Use of Weapons).

New Iain M. Banks Culture Novel

    - Tim Holman - June 23rd, 2010

Tweet it from the rooftops, a new Culture novel by Iain M. Banks will be released in October.

The title is SURFACE DETAIL, which refers to a number of things, not least one of the principal characters, who is covered, externally and internally, with congenitally administered tattoos.

    Here’s the cover:

    Here’s the blurb:

It begins in the realm of the Real, where matter still matters.

    It begins with a murder.

And it will not end until the Culture has gone to war with death itself.

Lededje Y’breq is one of the Intagliated, her marked body bearing witness to a family shame, her life belonging to a man whose lust for power is without limit. Prepared to
risk everything for her freedom, her release, when it comes, is at a price, and to put things right she will need the help of the Culture.

Benevolent, enlightened and almost infinitely resourceful though it may be, the Culture can only do so much for any individual. With the assistance of one of its most powerful – and arguably deranged – warships, Lededje finds herself heading into a combat zone not even sure which side the Culture is really on. A war – brutal, far-reaching – is already raging within the digital realms that store the souls of the dead, and it’s about
    to erupt into reality.

It started in the realm of the Real and that is where it will end. It will touch countless lives and affect entire civilizations, but at the centre of it all is a young woman whose need for revenge masks another motive altogether.

Orbit will be publishing SURFACE DETAIL worldwide in print and e-book editions this October.
    Behold the Precursors!

The Halo Encyclopedia has retcon the Covenant to using AM reactors. Oh, and those reactors in FS were powering a shield system that could repel the collision of a small moon

Point defense against the hundreds of Archer missiles the UNSC love to spam at them when their shields are down.

I speculate that the plasma torpedoes are not a DET weapon. That is the only logical explanation for such a massive discrepancy in firepower between the torpedoes and the lasers
Shiva warheads being threats to UNSC ships at hundreds-thousands of kilometers away disagree. And the Halo Encyclopedia per Halo's Canon Policy overrule the older sources.

Additionally, it's important to note that in Ghosts of Onyx, the UNSC Dusk laid a field of 14 HORNET thermonuclear mines, each with a yield of ~2.1 megatons. These were sufficient to destroy 12 Covenant warships and damage 4 more.
Each of those mines was 30 Megatons and the Covenant ships had already taken a lot of damage and were in the middle of making repairs when that happen.

Also, halo Canon policy is New>Old so for the time being the Halo Encyclopedia overrules older books. Halo Enc. gives a standard ship MAC gun as firing 600 ton rounds at 40% the speed of light and SMAC platforms as firing 3000 ton rounds at 50% the speed of light.

Also, in Fall of Reach, a single Shiva thermonuclear warhead was capable of of knocking out the shields of a pair of Covenant frigates with a proximity explosion. The yield of the Shiva is unknown, but a direct hit from a 42 megaton M/AM warhead should easily match or exceed the energy-on-target delivery of the Shiva, even at close range, since the vast majority of the blast energy would miss the frigates, while at least half the blast energy of a photon torp would hit the target, and even more if the indications of the use of shields/forcefields to 'shape' the charge are correct.
UNSC captains are afraid of Shiva warheads going off hundreds-thousands of kilometers from their ships. MT range the standard ship to ship Shiva warheads is not.

Hell! Halo Legends even attempted to fuck over the games in Origins pt. 1 when Halo rings showed up in orbit around Covenant homeworlds. The fact it can't even stay consistent with the games continues to damn using anything from it even farther.

Hmmm... I will have to do more research on the Halo universe, as I'm not that familiar with it.

I would like to get back to the original topic, however, of ST vs SW, which has continually been diverted from, and is my only real interest in this tread.

Prophet, if that is all true, then we must ignore legends completely - we can't pick and choose our data from it. If the games/novels are highest canon, we go by that, especially as the movies seem to show some pretty... weird... shit.

And that Prototype suit... that's more like an Elemental from B-Tech, not a giant mecha from Gundam...

Oh no, whatever they didn't contradict is canon.

If you even knew an iota of Halo, you would know that there is only ONE type of torpedo, it's called a PLASMA TORPEDO. God, if you don't even the basics of the universe you're debating against, then don't debate.

OH God... do you understand how other universes work? Well, considering you only talk about universes with STAR in them, I wouldn't be surprised if you have never heard of Halo.

Learn how to quote. No one likes the terrible way you respond.
obviously, as you just proved, AGAIN (what a surprise!), you are too dim-witted to understand my subtle points. So, don't even try next time.

it's not about what is or is not contradicted! But, of course, we've been telling you that for the last few hundred pages; oh well, it's not exactly news that you like making propaganda.
